What is the team?
It's more of a group, really, with about 20 bikers taking part. On any ride we average about 8 or 10 riders. We do mountain bike rides on Saturdays at 2:15, currently lasting 4 or 5 hours. We go just about everywhere within a 50km radius of Sao Joao, town and country, road and trail, mountain and valley. Road rides are Sunday mornings at 9:30 when we ride to the coastal town of Furadouro, which is a 50km round-trip. It's always great to see the ocean every weekend! Another road ride is Wednesday night at 9:15 when we do a 2 hour ride, usually down to the coast and then up and down the coast before coming home to the mountains.
We're led by Manuel Beleza, biker extraordinaire, master mechanic, owner of the store and, hence, the guy that makes all his money off the rest of us! |
