The History of PhillStock
It started out like any other event really, just as a thought in the back of a teenagers mind. This teenager was Tony Peck, and the idea was PhillStock. Bringing music to a small farming town of 1,000 seemed like an impossible task. Even Tony's closest friends thought the thought of it was crazy, and could never work. Not all his friends thought it was crazy though, one friend did stand behind his idea when he told him. That friend was Chad. With the two of them making the thought into an idea, and then into a plan they thought they could handle they went to go talk to the mayor. Being as Mayor Bill Graham's a pretty cool guy he listened to there "crazy" idea and thought he could help them. So he did. He helped them set up a counsil and help them make descisions. After a lot of hard work PhillStock was planned and set for August 11th 2001. After it was all said and done almost 500 people came and the small event with no advertising took off from nothing.
Digging up the past of PhillStock
If you're wondering who is in charge or why there is another PhillStock, this will for sure answer all your questions. Talking one night to Tony about the future of PhillStock and the plans for the upcoming year, I found out that there was not another planned. PhillStock was not planned on going on with both of the founders graduating and leading semi-busy lives there would be no time for the effort to be put out. As a music lover, and a huge fan of PhillStock this upset me. I don't know now if Tony offered it to me... or it just happened, but the options where simple. PhillStock die... or I take over and it go on. Now with the help of the founding members of PhillStock, I'm giving you The Return of PhillStock...
PhillStock 2003
The third year was directed by Kristin Rhodes and Jeremiah Johnson. It was held on the 12th of August in the summer of 2004 in good ol' P.Hill. The bands included Motor City Myster, Cat Jump, The Burning Sensations, Salem's Cradle, Best of Winter, Kid Tested Mother Approved, Treaty of Paris, and Southern BBQ Trip. Although no one planned on it, it was a record 103 degrees outside and still we had a turn out of over 300 people. With no complications except for the weather, the event went of perfectly from 3p.m. to midnight. Hope to see everyone again next year!
