Pico de Orizaba
Happy New Year everybody!  It's been a while since I updated my website and thought I'd update it for all of you too see some amazing photos.  I just got back from climbing Pico De Orizaba (Third highest in North America, 18,409 ft. - click here for photos) in Mexico with my fellow climbing friends Ryan and Marie.  This was our first expedition on our own (without a paid professional guide), with your's truely as the expedition leader.  It was nerve recking to find all the details and trip logistics for the most part we had an educated guess and the rest winged it.  Imagine a bunch of "Gringos" - white people who speak little spanish traveling deeper into Mexico without knowing which bus to take and where it will drop them off, somehow hopefully with a final destination at the mountain.  I couldn't find a bus schedule online, but for the most part it wasn't so bad; we found enough english speaking climbers to ask how to get around.  RJ Secor's book on Mexico's Volcanos wasn't bad either, it was actually helpful giving us a broad overview of what to look for and in retrospect I'd say we were just uncertain of the trip because it was in a foreign country.  You can access the photos also by clicking on the link under "My Pics" and then under "2005 pics" to see photos of this amazing mountain we were so fortunate to climb on.
