Utah and Yucatan Peninsula
< ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
I was actually gone for the whole month of June, I went on a two week Kayaking expedition in Lake Powell and then a two week trip traveling up and down the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico and ending up in Belize in Central America.

The Kayaking trip was interesting because we packed out everything we packed in....yes, including trash and waste.  We traveled 55miles by Kayak from Halls Crossing to Iceberg Canyon and back.  It was amazing how much we were effected by wind, light rain, and jetskis; sometimes the wakes were big enough to tip us over.  I took pictures on the trip with a disposable underwater camera and digital photos of Zion National Park and the road trip.  Unfortunately, the fish I caught was missed in the photo, but I had the second largest fish of the trip (~3.5lbs Large Mouth Bass).  Compliments to Bill the Master fisher who cooked the best fish I've had in my life.

As for Mexico, I flew into Cancun.  Traveled North to an island called Isla Mujeres, then back to Cancun to catch a bus to Chitzen-Itza (Mayan Ruins).  I then made my way to Playa Del Carmen (very romantic area for couples), and off to the island Cozumel.  Traveling south to Tulum and then to Chetumal (just before the border) and finally to Belize and the island Caye Calker.  I stayed in a hostel half the time, the other half it was too hot for fans only, so I got a hotel with AC.  I went SCUBA diving 4 times in Cozumel (one of the top five SCUBA diving in the world), snorkeling in Belize and Isla Mujeres.  I also went SCUBA diving in Dos Ojos and Bat Cave, both Cenote dives (Cavern dives) that are in the Imax movie "Journey into Amazing Caves" through Hidden Worlds.  The two Cenote dives I did are considered the best in the world, and in my opinion were truely amazing.  I bought an underwater camera for this trip and was very fortunate to get some professional looking and beautiful photos in both Belize and Cozumel.  Unfortunately I wasted two rolls in the Cenotes because the lighting was not as good as I thought, but you can see professional photos at the Hidden Worlds website or in the Imax movie.  No camera can capture the essences of really being there.  Being there was a surreal feeling that I hope many of you have or will enjoy.

Take care
