WTC Graduation
Recently I finished the Sierra Club's Wilderness Training Course (WTC), which is geared toward developing mountaineering skills; I've met a lot of interesting and fun people who have already climbed more mountains than I can ever dream of doing. I learned a lot of information and met some of my newest friends here!

I always liked hiking and getting outdoors, but recently I've been focusing my attention on learning the trade of Mountaineering.  Last week I summited Mt Lassen and got to the top of the Red Banks on Mt Shasta.  Nobody had summited Shasta in 3 days because of severe winds, it knocked me over a couple times.  I look forward to climbing this mountain again maybe next month (peak season) when the weather is more favorable.  In 2 weeks I'll be taking an expedition seminar through RMI on Mt Rainier June 15-20; Mt Rainier is said to be one of the toughest endurance climbs in the lower 48 states.  This seminar teaches expedition logistics and the mountain is a training climb for some of the highest mountains in the world.  To stand on top of the highest peak and see for hundreds of miles is an awsome spectacle as well as physically rewarding, but I can't emphasis enough how serious this sport is.  Sometimes decisions on the mountain are life and death and there are many accidents every year.  If you want to get into the sport, go with someone who has had the proper training and is experienced; I'm always looking for new climbing partners and willing to teach anyone who wants to learn.

I hope some of you find your photo in these albums, I updated photos in Photo Albums #3 and #4.  Feel free to pass this website on to anybody else who may enjoy it. If there are any photos of anyone that they want removed, just let me know and I'll take them off immediately.

Take Care,
Phillip
