10) Zorak
Zorak is just cool.  Carl Sagan has profoundly influenced my personal philosophies and has made quite an objectivist of me.  Eretosthenes, through ingenuity and by the use of two sticks, made the first step in relegating humanity to a huge bluish ball in an even huger solar system, in an even huger galaxy, in a massive Universe.  Chavez was great, I liked his passive resistance philosophy (which he borrowed, of course) in challenging the American Southwest farming industry.  Kepler is amazing in that he stood by what his evidence showed, no matter how much he wanted to believe otherwise.  His own evidence showed that the solar system was not perfect, and it nearly drove him insane.  Yet he had the courage to accept the proof for what it was.  Franklin was a genius who used contemporary scientific insights to make life easier for everyone.
