11 Apr 09 - Quinn it’s time to bring Sven to Sunderland
I first thing I want to say is that Ricky Sbragia has done a decent job in his short spell in charge at Sunderland but I think he would be the first to admit that he’s not a manager. We need a new manager someone who can make sure we stay in the premier league and look to plan for next season to take Sunderland to the next level. We need a man with big time management experience in my view we need Sven Goran Eriksson as the next Sunderland manager. Today I have launched this face book group called Sven for Sunderland, I hope everyone joins it let’s get Sunderland to the next level.

27 Mar 09 - Brown’s political strategy is sinking quicker than the Titanic
Gordon Brown has been on a save the world tour this week trying to convince everyone to join his plan for spending and borrowing more money to try and get us out of the recession. Brown’s whole political strategy has been centred on the G20 meeting next week of world leaders he wants to be the big statesman who saves the world. This week that strategy has sunk quicker than the Titanic, as politicians from Europe and America turn on his fiscal stimulus plans. The European Union have said borrowing and spending more money was the road to hell. Republicans are lining up to attack Presidents Obama’s crazy fiscal stimulus of over 3 trillion dollars. With the EU, IMF (International Monetary Fund), CBI (Confederation of British Industry) and the Governor of the Bank of England all lining up against the affordability of more borrowing, Mr. Brown is left looking isolated. The Governor of the Bank of England could not be clearer stating on Tuesday that the public finance deficits were too high for big tax cuts or putting up borrowing to spend more. This whole scenario has destroyed Brown’s plan meaning he will be unable to be the world saving statesman. The Prime Minister will be made to look a fool when the world leaders do not agree to spend money on the insane scale that he wants. We now need disciplined fiscal policy not all this hot headed reaction from the Prime Minster. We need a serious effort to tackle government debt and look to solve the economic problems for the long term. We cannot spend or borrow any more. It is time for difficult decisions and I fear they will have to wait for the next government to get in before they are made.

23 Mar 09 - We must stand up to Islamic extremists – appeasement of their demands is unacceptable
The modern British state is bowing down to Islamic extremism at every turn no one can say anything against Islam in any shape form or fashion. British Service personal are wearing hijabs so not to offend Muslims, we have the ridiculous situation where Islamic extremist can verbally abuse our troops, with vile taunts of butchers of Baghdad and get protection from the Police in Luton, yet the British people who answer back to the extremists get take on by the police for defending our troops. It is outrageous that these protests against our troops are allowed to happen if these extremists don’t like the foreign policy of the government then protest against the elected politicians of the country not the troops. Also if these extremists hate Britain so much why don’t they leave the country or better yet why doesn’t the government get a back bone and deport them, why should we allow extremist terrorists a platform to abuse our great country and our great armed forces. This government have constantly appeased militant Islam they have spared no effort to listen to demands, provide funding and establish dialogue. Most of the government funding £90 million aimed at tackling extremism has ended up giving financial support to militants. The metropolitan police have said there is at least 2,000 active jihadists in Britain and The CIA say that the most dangerous terrorist threat to the west is British based Islamic extremists. We must stand up to the these extremists and if necessary deport dangerous threats to Britain’s security these people are not going to change their view, they want to destroy our democracy and we should not let them succeed. A poll out the other week found that at least 40% of Muslims support the introduction of Sharia law in Britain, with all its oppression and homophobia this should never be allowed to happen. The British government should pursue a policy that makes people who come to Britain adapt to our culture, our values with all the rights and privileges of a democracy. Anyone who comes to Britain should live by British law and British culture they shouldn’t impose their culture or laws on Britain. We can defeat Islamic extremism if we stand up for the values of democracy, freedom and patriotism.

5 Mar 09 - My article from last thursday's Northern Echo on the economy
Gordon Brown is pursuing a scorched Earth policy on the economy
Gordon Brown is spending money like there’s no tomorrow, the question is why? It is because he’s following the same principles that he had when he was chancellor, spend, spend, spend and don’t worry about the future. It is the exact same policy that got us into this economic mess in the first place. It’s Brown’s fault we are in the deepest recession this country has ever faced. Who failed to prepare the economy for a downturn by not saving money in the good years, gave us the biggest budget deficit in this country’s history and encouraged Britain to become the most indebted nation in the developed world? The answer is Gordon Brown. So now what’s he doing? He’s doing it all again, it’s spend everything and don’t worry about who’s going to pay for any of it. Brown is pursuing a scorched Earth policy for two reasons: first he’s trying desperately to buy an election victory and secondly if he loses he will stuff the Tories if he doesn’t win the next election. Brown has been reckless and brought us to the brink of bankruptcy, he doesn’t deserve another chance, he has failed. It is time for change. It is time for this sorry government to come to end and the next Conservative government to put the country back on the right track.

20 Feb 09 - I agree with President Obama that we need more troops in Afghanistan
President Obama is making the right decision to send an extra 17,000 troops to Afghanistan, its vital conflict not just for Britain and America but for the rest of the world as well. Afghanistan is the frontline against terrorism, failure there would have deadly consequences for the rest of the world. When Obama says the situation is deteriorating he is correct, Pakistan has just last week signed a ceasefire with the Taliban forces which is a massively damaging blow to NATO who may now have to take on the Taliban on their own. Only by having more troops on the ground will our forces be able to hold the ground captured once the Taliban are beaten in battle. Holding the ground taken is the key to winning. The problem at the moment is when our forces win battles they can’t hold the ground captured as there’s not enough troops and then the battle starts again for the same ground. Obama must do more about our NATO allies’ contribution to the war effort too, at the moment there is the Americans, British and Dutch doing must of fighting. If the world takes the terrorist threat seriously then everyone has to take there responsibilities, put in the troops and allow them to engage fully just as our troops are doing. Countries like Germany, Spain and France should be sending more forces in and making sure they can engage at any time of day and without British and American troop escorts. We must stand and fight in Afghanistan to prevent terrorists having a base from which to launch attacks against the west, it’s not popular but it is the right thing to do and I support this vital war to protect the security of this country and wider world.

27 Jan 09 - Next 3 Premier league games for Sunderland are vital
Sunderland starts tonight a very important two week period of premier league football for the club. Tonight we play Fulham at the Stadium of light, I’ll be there we need a win. Sunderland has got to look at the next 3 games as vital to our bid to survive in the premier league this season. After Fulham we have a Tyne wear derby against the scumcastle then a week on Saturday we host Stoke at the Stadium of light. These games are vital we have to get at least 6 points if not all 9 from these games somehow. The league table is so tight we can’t afford to blow points against teams down in the relegation scrap with us. Ricky put your best side out Jones and Cisse there’s no excuses and there should be no excuses from anyone in the team the performances have got to start turning into winning results, starting tonight with Fulham. These next 3 games could determine whether or not Sunderland stays in the premier league. Come on Sunderland go for it.

25 Jan 09 - Royal rumble predictions road to wrestlemania starts
Royal rumble winner - I thought Randy Orton until he assaulted Mr. McMahon on raw, Triple H could be a favourite now. Randy Orton may now be going to feud with the McMahons's with probably Shane facing Orton at Mania. WWE Title match - Jeff Hardy vs. Edge - Edge to win title back, outside interference from Christian sets up Jeff Hardy vs. Christian at Mania World Title match – John Cena vs. JBL – would love to see JBL win title, but unfortunately Cena will win HBK will not help JBL win title. Sets up HBK vs. JBL at wrestle mania. ECW title match – Jack swagger vs. Matt Hardy – Jack Swagger to retain title maybe by count out or DQ. Women’s title match – Beth Phoenix vs. Melina – Melina to win Women’s title.

24 Jan 09 - Ricky should rest main players in cup game tomorrow the league is the priority
I want to see Sunderland get through to the next round of the FA Cup tomorrow against Blackburn at home. The FA cup is the last competition we at least have a small chance of winning who knows. I think the league though has got to be the priority before the cup, we have to stay in the Premier league and the way things are looking at the bottom it's tighter than ever, 3 points separate more than half the table. We have a vital home league game which Im going to on Tuesday against Fulham, 3 days after cup game. It is essential we win that game by putting a full strength side out home games are crucial and we cant afford to be going into that game with any injuries. So my advice to Ricky Sbragia is to field the hungry fringe players to give them a chance to shine tomorrow against Blackburn in the cup like Michael Chopra, David Healy and Andy Reid. Give these players a chance to show they can be in the first team. Come on Sunderland.

23 Jan 09 - The last thing bankers should be getting is a bonus
It's unbelievable to see Britain's bankers awarding themselves bonuses, after the mess they help to cause in our economy. The taxpayer had to bail out the banks back in November and after two months of not lending any money to hardly anyone now the taxpayer this week has had to add even more hundreds of billions of pounds to the original bail out. The government if it had any bottle would stop executives of banks getting these appalling levels of bonuses for helping to ruin the economy. Northern Rock today will give its staff £9 million in bonuses it is a disgrace. This should not be allowed to happen when the economy officially as we had already known for several months enters recession in part because of the reckless lending of banks. Unemployment is up to nearly 2 million, jobs are being lost at a rate of 2,500 a day. How can any bank justify giving any of its staff a bonus is beyond me. Both the banks and the government have helped to cause this recession and they should be both punished for their mistakes, the banks should have all bonuses stopped and the government should pay at the next general election by being kicked out of office.

17 Jan 09 - Liverpool are bottling there premier league title challenge
Rafa Benitez recently ranted at Sir Alex Ferguson about how he had complained over the years and gotten away with too much it was so hilarious. It reminded me of Kevin Keegans rant against Sir Alex in the 95-96 season. Rafa just cant do angry very well I was laughing my head off and Im sure Sir Alex was too. It just goes to show that even now Sir Alex has the psychological edge on the other top managers; he can still upset and play mind games with them better than anyone else. Liverpool are losing the title challenge off the pitch with Rafa letting Sir Alex get to him but they are also losing the battle on the pitch too. A perfect example for me is Man united at Stoke was a hard game for united but they managed to win the game with one goal. Liverpool were at Stoke last week and after the rafa rant they only managed a draw again the pressure got to them. I think it becomes clearer by the day that Liverpool are starting to feel more nervous and Man United as ever later in the season are starting to get their confidence. My prediction is for Man United to take another step today with a win at Bolton and be top of the league tonight, really putting more pressure on Liverpool who play Monday. Man United are now in the driving seat in the title race, I believe Man united will be Premier league champions and I think they may have a chance of winning 5 titles this season, could potentially win 5 trophies World champions already, still in carling cup, FA cup, Champions league and Premier league titles. Are 5 titles in a season possible? With Man United's squad the answer is yes.

1 Jan 09 - Israeli has ever right to defend itself from hamas
Israeli has been heavily criticised for its attacks on the Gaza strip which started last Saturday, quite unfairly I think. The fact is Israeli pulled out of the Gaza strip in 2005 to try and negotiate a peace with Hamas terrorists and what have they done since fired thousands of rockets on Israeli. The terrorist attacks and rocket attacks on Israeli have to stop and Israeli is right to fight for the freedom of its people, military action is not pleasant business but it has been be done when dealing with fanatically extremists who will go to any depths to try and kill as many people as possible. A ceasefire should include the stopping of rocket attacks against Israeli however Im sure as ever Hamas will use any ceasefire to regroup and get longer range rockets which is what they did the last time this happened. Israeli should consider sending in ground forces to stop Hamas regrouping and the bombardment of its own cities.

24 Dec 08 Vote by EU to scrap 48 hour working week is a disgrace
Last week members of the European parliament voted to scrap the UK's opt out from the 48 hour working week. This was voted through with the help of 13 of the 19 Labour MEPs. This decision is a disgrace. We are heading into possibly the worst recession this country has ever faced the EU shows just how out of touch it is with ordinary people by scrapping there right to get overtime of plus 48 hours. Families and businesses up and down the country will be struggling to make ends meet, at these difficult times and then the EU puts the final boot in. Allot of business leaders are saying this is the worst possible decision at the worst possible times. This policy could affect over 3 million Britains who work more than 48 hours a week. The main jobs hit by this cap due to be imposed by Brussels will affect tourism, catering, farmers, medical and off shore workers. It's a crazy situation we should decide here in Britain how many hours we work, we shouldnt be dictated to by Europe. It shows how of touch the EU is from its citizens. The EU isnt bothered about its citizens anyway look at another example Ireland they had a vote on the EU treaty the people spoke and said we dont want this treaty and what does the EU say they have to vote again what an affront to democracy when people make a decision in a vote the politicians should accept the result and stop trying to impose unwanted changes on the people. Democracy the EU doesnt know the meaning of the word. The EU is what it is a federalist super state we ignore at our peril, it takes powers away from the nation state at every point, slowly but surely they take more and more control away from national governments. With the European elections coming next June I hope everyone gets out and votes for a Conservative MEP to stop the EU taking more powers away from Britain.

10 Dec 2008 - Brown will bankrupt Britain
Gordon Brown has now set Britain on a path to a trillion pound budget deficit this will take a generation to pay back. Brown is prepared and willing to bankrupt the country to try and save his own political skin, he is promising everything to everyone, even though he has no money left and all this new money has to be borrowed. Dont be fooled more spending paid for by higher borrowing today, means higher taxes tomorrow. Brown has already maxed out the nations credit card, now he thinks the answer is to get another one. Heres the fact about the economy with this government. Browns tax con will leave 100 Billion borrowing deficit that means an increase of 4,000 to each familys tax bill. This borrowing binge will have to pay back by a tax bombshell that will come in the future. Britain is heading for a very bad recession, allot of the problems were created by this government; Browns decisions now mean it will be worse and last longer. I believe we need change; we need a conservative government to come in that is fiscally responsible, that restrains public spending and gets debt down. Governments should be responsible with peoples money and not go on borrowing binges. We need government that lives within in means and offers lower taxes that last for long term.

30 Nov 2008 - Sunderland needs Roy Keane to stay as manager
I remember two and bit years ago Sunderland relegated from Premier League and bottom of the championship. Along came Roy Keane and changed it all, he took us from bottom of the championship to champions. Last season against all the odds he kept us in the premier league he has done an amazing job for us and the fans should not forget the past. Roy Keane is the best thing to ever happen to Sunderland. Of course things are tougher now they get tougher as the job goes on, the next phase of establishing Sunderland in the premier league will be difficult the fans should be realistic but I believe Roy Keane is the man to do the job. Keane has to be given time to build Sunderland into a premier league team it takes time. What we need now is for Keane to stay and get the players to work there socks off to make sure we start to turn it round. We need the fans to get to the stadium as much as they can and show their support for the team. We need everyone to get behind Roy Keane he has done great things at Sunderland come on Keane you got to stay finish the job, its a tough challenge to build Sunderland into a premier league team but you can do it.

13 Nov 2008 - Sunderland crash out of carling cup!
Sunderland has crashed out of the carling cup losing 2-1 to Blackburn. Its the fourth straight defeat and put simply its not good enough. The players have no one to blame but themselves for this mess. The players have missed a massive opportunity to win something this season by being knocked out of the carling cup last night. If we had won we would have been in the quarter finals. The performances are good but we arent getting the right results. The players have got to work harder and make sure we get the results. Its no good saying we were unlucky we have to start changing the scenario round. We are in the bottom three of the league but a win would take us up to Tenth. We need to start to turn it around; it starts on Saturday at Blackburn we have got to stop the run of defeats. The players need to get a grip on reality and realise that we need to stay in the premier league at all costs, Sunderland cant afford to go down again we have to stay in this league. It will require hard work and the players playing their hearts out to make sure we win matches. I believe Roy Keane has a part to play to he must make changes to the team if he thinks certain players are slacking and be prepared to replace with players who will put the effort in. Come on Sunderland players you can do better than this.

1 Nov 2008 - McCain comes back in the US elections!
A new opinion poll released yesterday showed McCain cutting Obama's poll lead to just 3 points. Theres only 3 days left in the US election campaign, although the media and Obama seem to think it's over already anything can happen. I believe the election will be allot closer than anyone thinks, the media should realise that the election is not over till the votes are counted. And Obama should not take peoples votes for granted by writing his victory speech before the elections over; I believe it shows his arrogance. McCain still has a chance to win on Tuesday, no matter what the polls say. Of course Obama is the favourite no doubt about that. I think Obama would be a bad president for America and I base that on his policies. The man is the most left wing man in the senate; he has always supported his own side and unlike John McCain has never disagreed with his own side on any issue. He's a tax and spend politician of the left, he is already pledging to 280 Billion dollars of public spending in his first year. What does that mean; it means tax rises for Americans at a time when the world is suffering the worst recession potentially of the last 100 years. Obama wants a state run health system which would not work in America, its a too big, to expense and again the last thing the US needs right now. On foreign policy Obama has made the wrong judgements in three areas, on the troop surge in Iraq he was against but it worked getting the violence down in Iraq and McCain unpopular at the time supported the surge. When Russia attacked Georgia, Obama said the invaded country should show restraint, McCain said we should stand with the democracy, Georgia. Obama has said he would be prepared to seat and meet with some of the worlds worst dictators, McCain wont hell stand up to them. Obama is the favourite in the US election next week but dont count out John McCain, the votes have still to be counted yet.

25 Oct 2008 - Sunderland must seize the day and beat the Geordies
Today is the 140th Wear v Tyne derby game. I'll be their today we must seize the day and take advantage of a weaken Newcastle. There in a mess their chairman is hiding for his life and their manager is the Mike Bassett of English football, funny but crap. I don't think Sunderland will have a better chance than today to finally beat the Geordies at the stadium light it's been too long since we beat them at home. Sunderland come into today's game in good shape with 2 draws that possibly should have been wins against Arsenal and Fulham. My prediction is an attacking formation 4-4-2 with Chopra and Cisse up front with Jones ready to come on if needed. It'll be a tough game, derby always are I'm going for 2-1 to the might mackems we are due some luck against Newcastle at home. Come on Sunderland.

3 October 2008 - David Cameron sets out his vision for Britains future
What a conference for the Conservative party it was fun but also serious. The Conference was undoubted overshadowed by our economic problems but we showed at our conference that we understand both the seriousness and responsibility we have to fix it and get Britain on the right track. Cameron set out his vision for a better Britain. It was an excellent speech. Cameron started to set out his vision of how we the Conservatives can change Britain for the better. We showed we have a plan for our battered economy to sort out the mess by being financially sound and helping people with the cost of living. We showed we have a plan for a better NHS with real reform, abolishing Labours top down targets and giving NHS professionals power. We showed we have a plan for radical social reform with an end to Britains benefit culture and supporting marriage in the tax system. We have a plan for fixing our economy, making the NHS better and real radical social reform. I was on Daily politics telling everyone we must not to get ahead of ourselves there is still a long way to go before the election in 2010, we cant be too over confident we have to set out our plans and work hard to win the trust of the British people to form their next government. Cameron I think has the ability and vision to be a truly great reforming Prime Minister; I hope we get the chance to change Britain for the better.

23 Sep - The fox in the box - Michael Chopra is back!
What a game on Saturday, my team Sunderland beat Boro in the Wear Tees derby 2-0, my new profile picture is of me celebrating Michael Chopra's second goal to seal the points for us. It was a great game I have nothing against Boro, living in Stockton now the only time I don't cheer for boro is when they play Sunderland. I think boro are a good team and they'll be fine this season. I thought Sunderland play excellent to survive a Boro onslaught early on to eventually win the game. Chopra the fox in the box is back he was hungry from the moment he got on the pitch, he has been going through allot of hard personal times recently I'm pleased for him, and hopefully this will be the start of him getting himself sorted. We had more shots on target and off target then Boro the penalty that Boro got was never a penalty in a million years, glad Downing took it he should play rugby. The result I thought was fair we defended when we need too; Gordon was very good in goal saving some shots from downing and Alves. The main difference between the sides though was the fox in the box Chopra he scored the goals and he worked his heart out I was very pleased with the performance. I still think Sunderland will be fine this season we should aim for a top 10 finish and hopefully a try and win the carling cup you never know.

18 Sep Palin has put Obama on the back foot in the US Elections
Everyone assumed that Barrack Obama was going to be the next president of America riding high in the polls everyone said Obama will win and McCain was finished. So what's happened now we are in the election campaign the Obama team is on the back foot it's stunned by the reaction the American people have given to the maverick outside the governor of Alaska Sarah Palin. No one knew who Palin was 4 weeks ago now thanks to her being McCains running mate, the Republicans have a 4 point lead in the polls over the Democrats. The lipstick with a pig farce has allowed the republicans the chance to launch personal attacks on Obama and make him look weak and inexperienced. The real problem for the democrats is that Palin is not only attracting the core right wing conservative base but she is also brining the women voters too, they are abandoning Obama for Palin. The reason Palin has had such an impact is simple shes a powerful women, right wing, sexy, tough, strong and an excellent communicator. Shes got all the best qualities and Im quite a fan of her can you tell? lol. I think she will be an excellent vice president should the republicans win the election. Lets hope McCains gamble pays of and the republicans win the election. Come on McCain and Palin.

10 Sep 2008 - Note to WWE - Bring back Honky Tonk Man against Santino Marella!
Santino Marella is fantastic you got to bring back Honky Tonk Man to feud with him over the Intercontinental Title. WWE should bring Honky back for good. You can bring honky back as a legend defending his title reign. Have Honky take the IC belt off santino after a few months of the honk-a-meter. Santino could act so shocked; it would stun the wrestling world if honky came back 20 years after he held the belt, if he came back and won it. It would be a legendary return and an awesome storyline. Bring back Honky!

9 Sep 2008 - King Roger back on his throne
All the critics wrote off Roger Federer when he had a bad start to the year, when he lost the French open convincingly to Nadal all the critics piled in, when Wimbledon was lost by hair in a five set thriller the critics said Federer was a spent force and Nadal was the new king. What a load of rubbish after last night's US open final we now know King Roger is back. Federer ripped Andy Murray to pieces his aggressive attacking play was back and Murray had no answer for it the Federer Forehand was at perfect accuracy. Federer looked to be back to his dominating ways, as his play was breath taking. Look out tennis world King Roger is back on his throne.

7 Sep 2008 WWE Unforgiven 2008 - How I would book it
It's come round fast but we have another WWE pay per view event tonight here's how I book the show if I were Vince. WWE Championship scramble match - I look for Triple H to retain title here. I don't think any of the heels in this match are up to Triple H's level yet. MVP may work a programme with Triple H once tonights match is done. World Heavyweight scramble match - I'm going for JBL to win the title tonight I honestly can't see CM Punk retaining I think he's a good wrestler but he lacks ability on the microphone. ECW Title scramble match This will not be a quality match, with Mark Henry as champ and the useless Miz in the match. I would put the title on Matt Hardy he's the only decent wrestler in this match. Divas Championship - Michelle McCool is sexy I hope she keeps the title, I think she will it's only early for her title reign. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho (Unsanctioned match) - This will be the match of the night for sure. This will be great Shawn is suppose to be injured for real going in I expect a brutal fight this won't be their usual excellent wrestling match. I look for Michaels to hand Jericho a beating and win the match. Shawn maybe off TV for while after this match depending what how bad his injury is. Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase vs. Cryme Tyme (World Tag Titles) - Cryme Time to win. The match hasn't had allot of build as you would expect no one really cares about the tag team titles anyway. One more thing why is Santino Marella the Intercontinental Champion not on this Pay Per View he's one of the best heels in WWE at moment and he's very funny. Crazy. I don't think he'll beat the Greatest Intercontinental title reign of all time of the Honky Tonk Man though. (454 days is a long time to hold a belt Santino good luck!)

6 Sep 2008 Newcastle in crisis and I love it that's right love it
The Geordie Messiah has once again walked away from Newcastle. That's right Kevin Keegan has, at last after a little confusion resigned as Newcastle manager. I must say I haven't stopped laughing for nearly three days. It's been quite pathetically funny, he was gone, then he wasn't, then he resigned what a shambles lol. Here's a question for anyone, who in their right mind would want to manage Newcastle United? They are a crap football team, they have a mad owner, crazy fans who can't accept reality and of course an empty trophy case for the last 50 years lol. I love it when the Geordies are unhappy they have no one to blame but themselves I hope they go down this season, they deserve it they are so arrogant and it's based on nothing but pure ego no facts. Newcastle is all hype they always have been and they always will be. Here's to the self destruction of Newcastle United lol.

18 August 2008 - How I would book summer slam 2008
Santino Marella/Beth Phoenix vs. Mickie James and Kofi (Both IC and women's titles on line) - Santino and Beth to win with Santino pinning Mickie - santino is so funny on the... Read More microphone would be great if he was IC champ again. Batista vs. John Cena - Batista win JBL vs. CM Punk (World Title) - JBL to win, new champion should have a long title run Shawn Michaels - Announces he is staying, not retiring and challenging Chris Jericho to a match at next pay per view Triple H vs. Great Khali (WWE Title) - Triple H win Matt Hardy vs. Mark Henry (ECW Title) - Mark Henry to retain ECW Title via DQ MVP vs. Jeff Hardy - MVP win

16 August 2008 - Sunderland high hopes for the new season
Today marks the start of the new premier league campaign, Sunderland have a tough start today with Liverpool at home. I don't expect much from today's game as I think... Read More Liverpool will be challenging for the title this year. I do have a good feeling about this season we have got some good quality players with premier league experience and that's important. I think we will have a pretty good season I say top 10 finish and a decent cup run in carling cup or fa cup. Let's hope for a great season come on Sunderland.

12 August 2008 - Russia's actions completely unacceptable against Georgia
We should all take note that the Russians are still a very serious threat to the world. Their actions against Georgia have been completely unacceptable... Read More; they have used this local crisis to flex their muscles. They have used massive and disproportionate force to try and destroy Georgia. The Russians are trying to send a message to other former soviet states like the Ukraine. We in the west should be supporting democracies against the brutal force of this power hungry Russian regime. NATO should stand up to Russia and tell them that in no uncertain terms they are wrong and actions like this against other nations will not be accepted by the international community.

6 July 2008 - A dream Wimbledon final today Federer vs. Nadal
What a match today will be, these two Federer and Nadal have a great rivalry Nadal leading overall 11-6 in match wins but Federer wining the two previous Wimbledon finals meetings. In 2006 it was a 4 set victory for Federer, in 2007 it was closer with Federer winning in 5 sets. And now today it will be a great match with the two best players in the world facing each other. The other special factor is Federer is hoping to win a 6th straight Wimbledon title, amazing if he pulls it off today. Federer is closing in on another record that being the most grand slam wins currently Federer is on 12 grand slams the record held by Pete Sampras is 14. I think today will be a fantastic match really looking forward to it. I tip Federer to win in 5 sets although Nadal is getting closer.

2 July 2008 - Keane ready to break the bank on Darren Bent
Roy Keane is ready to break the bank to get Darren Bent to move to Sunderland. Keano is willing to pay 10 Million for Bent. I think he's a great signing if we can get him, he's the kind of player we need he scores goals. It would be the first signing of the summer for Sunderland and I believe if we sign him it would represent a real shift by the club to get the kind of quality player we need to compete in the premier league in our second season.

28 June 2008 - Labour in meltdown as they get massacred in Henley By election
I must say I took great delight in hearing that Labour crashed to another crushing by-election defeat in Henley on Thursday. They came fifth behind the appalling BNP it shows just how bad things have become for Labour under Gordon Brown. The party is meltdown today their Scottish Labour leader has had to resign because of dodge donations to her leadership campaign, they got battered in the local elections, annihilated in the Crewe by election now another defeat. The latest opinion poll puts the conservatives in a commanding 21 point lead, if translated at a general election it would give David Cameron a commons majority of 212, a landslide victory. Labour are in meltdown theirs no doubt about that, Brown is a rubbish prime minister, one year in and Gordon Brown looks doomed already. Bring on the 2010 general election.

19 June 2008 - The EUs reaction to the Irish No vote on the Lisbon treaty shows just how undemocratic the EU is!
Last week the Irish people took the brave decision to ignore all the threats from the European Union and voted No in the Lisbon treaty referendum. The people of Ireland have spoken, they have said to Europe what I believe must of the people of Britain would say, that we dont want ever closer political integration with Europe, we dont want more powers transferred from the nation states to Europe. After the result a string of European foreign ministers typical in their reaction to a democratic decision by the people said we would carry on with the treaty we will ignore the result. This goes to the heart of what the EU is really all about its not about working together it is about control it is about a federal super state that takes powers away from countries and hands that power to an ever larger bureaucracy. If Britain had a referendum on this treaty it would be thrown out the government wont hold one because they know they would lose. Why cant the federalist Europeans simply understand that the people of Europe what a group of independent nation states who work together, not a federalist centralised super state that takes power away from the people and their democratically elected politicians

11 June 2008 - 42-Day detention without charge is wrong
Today parliament will decide on whether to lock up terror suspects for 42 days without charge. The very idea of this policy attacks the core principles of a British legal system that goes back nearly 800 years to magna carta. It can't be right for the government to have the power to lock someone up for 6 weeks without a charge just think about it a person in jail for that long not knowing what they are charged with what effect will this have on their life especially if they are innocent. Everyone knows there is a terrorist threat and of course we have to battle that but we don't protect freedom by sacrificing our own. We are playing the terrorists game for them with this measure. Why is this legalisation happening it's simple Gordon Brown is playing politics with national security he is doing this because he wants to say he's tough on terrorism and everyone else is soft what a terrible act for a desperate Prime Minister. I hope today MP's from all sides realise today is not about playing politics and wrong footing the opposition today is about our life our freedom and our rights as democratic citizens of the best democracy in the world.

8 June 2008 - Hilary Clinton finally leaves the race for the white house!
Yesterday Hilary Clinton finally officially dropped out of the race for president of the United States, Clinton who was beaten by Barrack Obama back on Tuesday in the last of the primaries. The candidates for the election are now clear we have an young, charismatic democrat in Obama and a experience battle tested veteran Republican in John McCain it will be an interesting race. I said on the radio on Wednesday I'm supporting John McCain, I think he has the experience and policy to help the American economy and fight the war on terror. It should be very exciting to see who wins in November.

1 June 2008 - How I would book One night stand
Batista vs. Shawn Michaels Stretcher match - Batista needs a win against HBK and probably get back into world title picture
Edge vs. Undertaker tables, ladders and chairs match Vacant World Title - Undertaker to win the title back even though should never of been striped of it.
Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga falls count anywhere match - Jeff Hardy win heading up card
JBL vs. John Cena First Blood match - Cena will win and go against Triple H for WWE Title Triple H vs. Randy Orton Last man standing match wwe title - Triple to retain and set up HHH vs. Cena for the summer.

18 May 2008 - How I would book Judgment day 2008
Shawn Michaels beat Chris Jericho roll up pin get them started on a long rivalry. They could have some great matches.
Undertaker vs. Edge (World Title) Undertaker to win it back cant understand why they stripped it off in the first place really crap storyline.
Triple H vs. Randy Orton (Cage Match for WWE Title) Triple H
Miz/Morrison vs. Kane CM Punk (WWE Tag titles) Miz/Morrison retain titles
John Cena vs. JBL Cena win probably look for him to wrok with JBL till Triple H ready for cena in the summer

14 May 2008 - Me on North East tonight news about post offices!
I was on TV last night saying how terrible it was that this appalling labour government didn't listen to anyone on the post offices and has decided against the views of the people in the consultation to close 2,500 post offices across the country. These closures have the potential to rip the heart out the communities they serve. The government doesnt care about local communities all they care about is clinging to power. Our Labour MP for Stockton South should be ashamed of herself as she said she would support the post offices and in parliament when it mattered she did not support the motion that would of saved them. It just goes to show our Labour MP is all talk and no action. You cant trust Labour.

11 May 2008 - Last day of the premier league season today I'm just happy Sunderland are staying in the league!
My predictions today Manchester united to win the title. Birmingham and Reading to join Derby in the championship. Fulham are the form team winning 3 of their last 4 I think theyll win today against Portsmouth and stay up. What ever happens Sunderland are in the premiership that's all I care about. I know Roy Keane isn't happy, but I am very happy with just staying up.

4 May 2008 - Brown's Labour suffer a bloodbath at the polls
Labour got massacred at the polls on Thursday night. It was excellent to see Gordon Brown on TV afterwards seeing his face when the Labour Party lost 256 council seats, lost 12 councils and we got 44% of the vote it was a massive break through for the conservative party. Boris Johnson is the new mayor for London and Labour have hit an all time low. Labour is losing swing seats and some of the seats in their heartlands. The Labour party is in meltdown, Brown is a hopeless Prime Minister if the Labour party had any sense they would get rid of Brown and get a new leader who may give them a chance of winning the next election. If Brown carries on he will lead Labour to a general election landslide defeat bring on 2010.

27 April 2008 - How I would book Backlash
Orton vs. HHH vs. JBL vs. Cena - Fatal Four elimination match for WWE Title - Age of Orton to continue with Orton win. Probably come down to him and Triple H. Orton to steal a win and set up rematch for Triple H to win title.
Undertaker vs. Edge - World Title - Undertaker to retain Taker's going to get a reasonable run with title.
Batista vs. Shawn Michaels - Could see Jericho costing Shawn the match set up some great matches between those two.
12 Divas tag match - Beth Phoneix's team to win Beth to get pin.
Matt Hardy vs. MVP - US Title - Matt Hardy to finally win a big single title and end the rivarly with MVP. MVP is a player now and is heading to world title.
Kane vs. Chavo Guerrero - ECW Title - Kane to retain ECW Title
Big Show vs. Great Khali - Big Show to win worst match of the night.

26 April 2008 - Go for it Sunderland in the Wear/Tees Derby today!
I'm going to the wear/tees derby today and I hope Roy Keane has learnt from last weeks appalling shambles in our derby game with Newcastle. We need to go for it today, no negative tactics go 4-4-2 today, beat the boro and guarantee our premier league status. A win today and loses for other teams in the relegation scrap would make us safe in the league. The sooner we get over the safety finishing line the better. Go for it today and finish the job for the season.

24 April 2008 - Brown's humilitaing U-turn on 10p will only help one in five of the 5 million low paid workers being taxed more!
Brown has had to make a humiliating u-turn on the 10p tax rate. And today the so-called u-turn package will help all lower paid workers. However analysis of the options by the Social Market Foundation think tank found that the only affordable package would cover just 15-20% of those affected. SMF chief economist Ian Mulheirn said making good the losses of those being targeted would cost more than 4 billion - compared to a sub-1 billion cost for the proposed package. It's clear that Brown is kicking the poorest people when they are down the government should be helping people with higher bills and higher inflation costs and what do they do they put taxes up on the poorest people in the country by over 200 it's a disgrace. Brown will never recover hes creditability.

4 April 2008 - Immigration the truth at last!
Finally the truth has come out about the level of immigration into Britain. A House of Lords report this week has told everyone the reality of the immigration system under Labour.
The Lords committee destroys all of Labour's bogus arguments for mass immigration. The report details;
Ministers preposterous assertion that migrants boost the economy by 6 billion a year
Reject government claims that foreigners will help to defuse the pensions time bomb.
Destroys the "fundamentally flawed" government line that migrants fill vacancies in the economy
Also warn that migrants will force house prices up by 10 per cent in the next 20 years
Look at the facts;
Government claim - There are economic benefits of migration
Reality - There have been little or no positive impact on general living standards. The income of some low paid workers is falling
Government claim - Immigrants are needed to fill half a million vacancies in the labour market.
Reality - Despite the massive numbers vacancies have remained over 600,000
Government claim - Immigrants are needed to defuse the pensions time bomb caused by ageing population
Reality - The argument doesn't hold up to scrutiny immigrants also grow old and having lived and worked here, will be able to claim a pension.
These findings strike a massive blow to the government propaganda on this issue. The fact is the immigration system is out of control under Labour and we need a Conservative government to come in to put a limit on level of immigration. We need a fair system, which the public will have confidence in.

30 March 2008 - How I would book Wrestlemania 24 tonight
1. Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Triple H (WWE Title) Triple H win title back
2. Edge vs. Undertaker (World Title) Undertaker keep streak alive and wins title.
3. Floyd Mayweather vs. Big Show Mayweather to win somehow
4. Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair Shawn wins and ends Ric Flairs great career Flair goes out on top at Mania
5. Money in the Bank I would have MVP win the briefcase he would hold it well and talk for a along time before eventually cashing in and getting a world title match. If Matt Hardy is coming back tonight then I would have Jericho win and Hardy to go against MVP for the US Title.
6. Batista vs. Umaga Batista win but not a squash as Umaga is a good worker, they shouldnt destroy him
7. Chavo Guerrero vs. Kendrick Chavo Guerrero to retain
8. Finlay vs. JBL (Belfast brawl) JBL
9. Ashley/Marie vs. Phoenix/Melina Ashley/Marie
10. Brian kendrick to win battle royal to face Chavo

22 March 2008 - Roy Keane should start going for it with 8 games left to go!
Roy Keane knows that the next 8 games will determine Sunderland football clubs future. Keane knows we need to stay in the premier league at all costs, I believe he must start from today at Aston Villa by going for it. What do I mean by that well I think we should take allot more of an attacking formation especially away from home. Away from home this season we have played 4-5-1 meaning one striker up front I honestly don't think it's done us any favours, we have got 4 draws away from home this season. It's been too defensive at times. Keane needs to get aggressive away from home we need all the points we can get in the battle to avoid the drop. A 4-4-2 formation I believe is essential if we are to get any more points away from home. Theirs no doubt if we stay up we will have our home form to thank but away from home with 8 games left to go I say go for it Keano, get as many points as possible and have a go at the opposition.

20 March 2008 - Labour MP's vote to close 2,500 post offices they should be ashamed!
Many Labour MPs said they wanted to keep the post offices open; indeed many of them have campaigned in their constituencies to keep some post offices open. The Conservatives put a motion before parliament last night to try and stop these terrible closures which will damage the local communities across Britain and what did the same Labour MP's do, guess what they voted with the government to shut the post offices. How can these Labour MP's say one thing in public and do the complete opposite in parliament it's a disgrace and those MP's should feel ashamed of themselves.

16 March 2008 - How much I've raised for Sport Relief
Hi everyone. I've done the run today it was great fun. No problems. Just to let everyone know I've raised over 500 on the paper sheets as well as the 130 on the sport's relief website. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has sponsored me in which ever form.

13 March 2008 - Darling delivers the Budget and its bad news for Britain!
The British people are reeling from high petrol prices, high taxes, high food prices and what has this labour government done it has kicked the people when they are down. Darling has in this budget, added an extra 110 to every familys tax bill. The new taxes will add 1.5 billion extra on alcoholic drinks, 1.6 billion on drivers and 1.7 billion on businesses over the next three years. Taxes and borrowing are up under Labour and the reason is because they failed to plan for the hard times they didnt put money aside for a rainy day. Labour will try and spin this budget but here are the facts. Taxes are at their highest level, borrowing is up again and we have the worse budget deficit in the developed world. The government has left no room for manoeuvre. The Government have mismanaged the economy the people cant trust Labour with the economy ever again.

6 March 2008 - Labour and Liberals break their manifesto promises and stop the British people having a say on the EU Treaty!
All three main political parties promised at the last general election to have a referendum on the EU Constitution. The EU Treaty is the same document today as was then the constitution. The Spanish foreign minister says the EU treaty is 98% the same as the constitution. Both Labour and the Liberals have broke their promise no political spin can get round that fact you can't trust either party ever again.

1 March 2008 - Sunderland must break the away day blues today
Sunderland have picked up just two points away from home all season. We badly need an away win and today provides a fantastic opportunity. Sunderland plays Derby the whipping boys of the premier league in what is a must away game for the black cats. Hopefully if we win today and reading losing it will open a 7-point gap between Sunderland the bottom 3. I think Sunderland must win today and they will 2-0.

17 February 2008 - Obama has Clinton on the ropes!
What a fantastic and exciting race the US elections are bringing, the democrats especially are having a great contest for their candidacy. Obama this week toasted Clinton yet again with 3 primary victories in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland. Obama is on a roll with those victories he has now won 8 primaries in a row. Obama is gaining momentum and the Clinton campaign is looking to one last stand it looks like in Texas and Ohio on March 4. I think their is no doubt with the victories Obama is piling up that Clinton is on the ropes and if she doesnt get a result in Ohio and Texas the race maybe over for the former front runner.

10 February 2008 - Sponsor me for sports relief
I'm doing the 3-mile challenge for Sports relief on Sunday march 16th. I want to try and raise as much as possible for charity. Anything any of you can sponsor me for would be great. The money you give goes directly to helping people living unimaginably tough lives in the UK and across the world.
You can sponsor me online;
www.mysportrelief.com/cllrphillipbroughton

8 February 2008 - Don't count out John McCain in the US elections
Super Tuesday produced a clear front runner in the republican race for US president, that front runner is John McCain who is my pick to win the US elections. McCain can concentrate over the next couple of months on his strategy to win the elections. The Democrats are in a far different position they have Clinton and Obama fighting it out to the death for the candidacy, their battle could go on for months all the way up to the democrat convention. This fight for the democrats could hand election victory to the republicans John McCain. McCain is the strongest candidate with massive experience in foreign policy he is a conservative so I suppose I would support him. I think Obama as much as disagree with his politics is a very charismatic man and I think it would be very interesting if he got through and hopefully Clinton won't get it, as her husband was bad and she'll be even worse.

3 February 2008 - The stop and search form should be scrapped - the police need to be freed to fight crime
The Labour government should accept that in their Britain, crime is up and out of control. Violent crime is up, gun crime has doubled and more than a million violent crimes have been committed in a single year. This is the reality is Labour's Britain the answer is give the police more power to stop and search people. The police must target the people who the police believe are carrying knifes, guns and who pose a threat to the public. The stop and search form takes 7 sevens to fill in every time a person is stopped this is a bureaucratic waste of police time, we need more police on our streets to fight crime not more police filling in more paper work. We all have our civil liberties and rightly so, but the police have got to be allowed to get on with their job and start to get a grip with Britain's violent crime culture.

19 January 2008 - Brown is dithering on Northern Rock!
Four months on and northern rock is still in a state of disarray no one knows what's going to happen with it. Will a private buyer come in or will it be nationalised. David Cameron our leader asked the Prime Minister on Wednesday what is going to happen? Asked how much money the government have given to northern rock? And most important what guarantees does he have that the taxpayer will get their money back? Brown could not answer one of the questions. The Prime Minister is dithering yet again why doesn't he make a decision he has sat around for 4 months doing nothing while this bank goes further into chaos. Brown should make a decision on what is going to happen, he should tell the truth, tell us how much of our money the government has lent to this bank and when will we get that money back. Brown should stop dithering a start making a decision.

14 January 2008 Sunderland beat Portsmouth 2-0 to narrow the relegation dogfight
What a game yesterday at the stadium of light I was their it was great. Sunderland put on an amazing performance; its been a long time since Ive seen a team performance like that. The battle at the bottom of the table is wide open now, Sunderland after yesterdays win are level on points with Bolton, Wigan, Birmingham and only 1 point behind Boro. Its going to be a dogfight for survival but if we play like that most weeks then I think well survive. Kieran Richardson who scored both goals yesterday really linked up brilliantly with Jones, but I must also say that every member of the team yesterday played their part we need more performances like that if we are going to survive the dogfight at the bottom.

13 January 2008 - Geordies thrashed 6-0 and no one wants the poisoned chalice that is the Newcastle Job
I laughed my socks off on Saturday night Newcastle thrashed 6-0 by Manchester United the reason is very simple they are a rubbish team they always have been and they always will be. Harry Rednapp is smart enough to have turned down the Newcastle job and I dont blame him. Frankly who on Earth would want the Newcastle job anyway its the biggest poisoned chalice in football. The Fans are delusional they think they should win the league what a joke, the board wont back a manager if he loses more than 3 or 4 games and the club has the dark shadow of Alan Shearer hanging over it even though if he took over theyd probably get relegated. Newcastle fans its very simple Ill explain it easily and slowly so even you can understand. Newcastle are a rubbish team, your not a big club, youve never won anything for 50 odd years so you should shut up with all the talking telling everyone how good you. Try and win something and then if you do that you can have something to talk about but until then keep quite.

11 January 2008 - My premier league result predictions for the weekend
Sunderland vs. Portsmouth 2-1 - I'm going, hoping for a big result
Middlesbrough vs. Liverpool 1-3
Manchester United vs. Newcastle United 4-0

10 January 2008 - Big Sam gets the sack as Newcastle Boss
Newcastle has done it again they have sacked their manager. It's the same old story with Newcastle they aren't doing well even though Sam has only had 8 months they have just sacked the manager it's crazy manager's need time. Who on Earth will would want to be the Newcastle manager the fans are delusional they actually think they should be challenging for the league title in the champions league and winning every competition their in they are delusional. The reality is Newcastle are rubbish and they always will be they haven't won a thing since 1955 and that's the way it's going to stay. LOL.

5 January 2008 Why I dont give stuff about the FA Cup
I know the title of this article may sound a little severe but I really believe it and Ill tell you why. For the last 13 years a top four team has won the FA Cup since 1996 the winner has always been Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool. I honestly think it has become un-winnable and frankly a wasted of time Cup competition for most other teams. The problem is the top 4 clubs are so dominated, thats why today on FA Cup third round day you will see most managers field weakened teams because they know that the Cup is a waste of time and for most other teams is a distraction from the far more important league both financially and football wise. The last team outside the top four to win the FA Cup was Everton in 1995. I seriously hope that a different team wins the FA Cup this year but I doubt that will happen. I think we should take the top four teams out of the FA Cup and give the winner an automatic UEFA Cup place. Obviously one place would have to be taken out of the league to compensate for a cup winner place. This would make the FA Cup mean something and allow different teams to win it.

31 December 2007 - My top 5 moments of 2007
1.) Winning my seat in Grangefield in the local elections in may
2.) Being in the Newspaper on TV and Radio this year
3.) David Cameron's speech at Conference in October - I was their!
4.) Sunderland Winning the Championship in may
5.) Liam Miller getting a late equaliser in the Boro/Sunderland Derby to score a point for Sunderland.

29 December 2007 - Sunderland in a must win game today against Bolton!
Sunderland has got to put the last two results away and forget about them. However much we were cheated we can't do anything about them now. We have a great chance today to put things right against Bolton. I think today's game is a must win game, we need to pick up as many points as we can at home because we aren't getting anything away from home. Bolton are struggling just as much as Sunderland we have to take the game too them and have to go into the game wanting and needing the win.

24 December 2007 - Sunderland robbed again by goal that didn't cross the lines
Sunderland were robbed again on Saturday a goal, which never crossed the line was given by a useless referee. Sunderland are not getting the luck at the moment, we were robbed last week when we should of won when the goal should not of been allowed. These incidents as well as others in the premiership show that replays using technology should be used to makes sure decisions are made properly. The massive number of mistakes being made by the referee's should you would think make the FA act and bring in video technology. Sunderland have been robbed in the last two weeks of 3 points that's the fact and it doesnt get any easier as Sunderland welcome Manchester United to the Stadium of Light on Boxing day. Good luck lads!

16 December 2007 - Brown surrenders Britain to EU
On Thursday Gordon Brown surrendered Britain to the EU by signing the EU treaty or as it is really known the old EU constitution. Brown even managed to get the worst of scenarios all by turning up late and snubbing the other EU leaders because he was in two minds about signing it. What a mess the Brown government is. How can the prime minister be trusted on any other issue after such a serious deception on the EU Constitution, he said he would stand by the manifesto, he said he would listen, have open government and yet he has done the absolute opposite. Brown has run away from debate on the issue, broke his manifesto promise to have a referendum and lied on the matter of what the constitution consists of. Browns government has lied to the country on this issue; he has surrendered Britains freedom to Europe. We have a prime minister who is a liar and the British people must know that this whole episode on the constitution shows that all his creditability is gone and you cant believe this man on any other issue.

16 December 2007 - Sunderland robbed of win yesterday by referee
I watched match of the day last night and I couldnt believe what I saw. First an Aston villa player raised a high kick right into Dwight Yorkes stomach and only got a yellow card yet in any other game he would have been red carded. The referee was hopeless so first the villa team should have been down to ten men. Then we were robbed at the end of the game when the referee said that Danny Collins had fouled the villa goal keeper Carson when he had actually jumped before Carson, that goal should of stood and Sunderland should have two more points on the board. These Premiership referees are hopeless and the one who refereed the Sunderland game should be shocked for such an appalling performance. Sunderland was robbed.

15 December 2007 - Roy Keane must sign quality not quantity in the transfer window
Many Sunderland managers have made a major mistake when getting to and in the premier league, the same mistake every time actually. That mistake is buying quantity rather than quality. Just buying lots of players doesnt mean that the team will stay in the league. The thing Roy Keane has to do in January transfer window is to buy four really good quality players with experience who are going to keep us in this league. The difference between the teams at the bottom of the premier league is marginal; we need some really good quality players two proven goal scorers, one right-winger in midfield and one good central defender. Again the important thing we must do is buy quality not quantity.

13 December 2007 English votes for English laws is the only way to correct the current unfairness of the Union
I declare an interest at the start of this article, that Im a passionate believe in the Union of the United Kingdom. Im proud to say Im British, as should we all. I love my country and think that we should be proud of our culture, proud of our history and proud of the fact that as a Union England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales we are stronger united. However there is an issue that needs to be addressed which I think the government is trying to brush under the carpet. This is the issue of the post devolution settlement the so-called west Lothian question, that has angered many Englishmen and rightly too. After devolution everyone apart from England has a better deal in the Union. This unfairness can not go on how can it be fair that a Scottish MP can vote on English pieces of legislation when English MPs have no say or vote on any legislation that affects Scotland. Indeed in some cases the government has had policies passed in the commons with the help of Scottish MPs even though if English MP had only voted the laws would not of got through. It is unfair that Scotland through the Barnett formula gets more public spending than England when England is the majority population. This unfairness needs addressing. It is only fair that the Barnett formula should be reviewed and that English MPs only should be allowed the final say on English only pieces of legislation. English votes for English Laws will not destroy the Union it will make the Union fair for all the members.

10 December 2007 - WWE Monday Night Raw celebrates its 15-year anniversary
Tonight Monday night raw celebrates it's 15-year anniversary. Raw is also the longest running weekly TV Series in history. It's an amazing achievement for the WWE. The show tonight should be good with lots of WWE legends coming back including Mick Foley, Austin, Trish Stratus, Lita, Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan. Also Carlito looks like he has decided to stay with WWE, tonight he has an I.C. Title match in a ladder match with Jeff Hardy which should be an excellent match and look for Carlito to win the belt tonight. I'm sure Vince McMahon will declare himself the greatest raw superstar of all time which quite frankly who could argue with that. All the funny moments and best rivalries involve Vince.

8 December 2007 - My pick for X factor
I'm picking Rhydian to win X Factor next Saturday. Rhydian is the best singer he should win.

3 December 2007 - Roy Keane made a true leader's decision on Saturday
Roy Keane made a good decision on Saturday to drop Craig Gordon and put Darren Ward in goal. I know Craig Gordon cost us 9 Million pounds but after the 7-1 beating we received in the previous game, it was the right decision to have a change and it showed true leadership by Keane to do so. I honestly think Ward should get some more games for his good performance on Saturday. It was a morale boosting victory on Saturday, which we needed I think this game could be a turning point for us.

1 December 2007 - Gordon Brown treats the army with contempt and disinterest!
After weeks of senior army officials both past and present including the current chief of staff attacking the government about how bad our army is treated, you would think the government would get it's act together and start to sort out the mess that our brave forces are putting up with. I have waited to see what responses the government has and what defence it has for treating our armed forces so appallingly yet the government has said nothing, it's because they don't care about the armed forces. I pay tribute to Lt Col Stuart Tootal who commanded the paras in Afghanistan and has resigned at the shoddy treatment of injured soldiers also he criticised the levels of pay, a lack of equipment and the appalling housing. How can a government treat the people who defend our country in such a way? The government are treating the armed forces with contempt and disinterest not my words but the words of Admiral Lord Boyce. Lord Boyce goes on to say about the Prime Minister Gordon Brown - "He was the most unsympathetic Chancellor, as far as defence was concerned, and was the only senior cabinet minister who avoided coming to the MOD to be briefed by our staff about our problems. He must take much of the blame for the very serious situation in which we find the services today." Their you have a Prime Minister who won't give the armed forces the money they need to fight wars, who doesn't care about their problems this man it not fit to run anything let alone the greatness and bravest armed forces in the world.

26 November 2007 Sunderland thrashed 7-1 means we must beat Derby on Saturday
It was embarrassing to watch match of the day on Saturday Sunderland were thrashed by Everton who are one of the better teams in the premier league. This match should give us the motivation to go out this Saturday and beat Derby. We need the win and frankly if we cant beat Derby we are in big trouble and we are heading for relegation. We are now in the relegation zone now for the first time this season, we must win against Derby and we need to start winning more matches as soon as possible. Most important we have to beat the teams down their with us such as Derby, Boro, Birmingham, Fulham, Wigan, Bolton and Reading.

21 November 2007 - England fail to qualify for Euro 2008 - McClaren must be sacked!
Steve McClaren must be sacked tomorrow morning. The fact is he has failed to get England to European championships next year and for England that is an unacceptable failure. It is now time to turn to a manager with a good track record who can really shake the England team and make them win something. This is not good enough McClaren says he takes ultimate responsibility and he should then their is no other option then to sack him tomorrow morning. I say bring in Jose Mourinho a really good manager who will make England win.

20 November 2007 - Edge and Chris Jericho comebacks give WWE some momentum!
For the first time in long while the WWE has had something good to talk about. WWE had two massive comebacks on Sunday and Monday. Edges return was good costing undertaker the world title and from what I have heard Jerichos comeback was good too. Edge and Jericho are just what the WWE needs now after months of the show falling to bites with suspensions, injuries and not to mention drug problems. Its time these two great wrestlers who can talk, have personality and can really deliver some great quality matches do just that and help a desperate WWE out. Let's hope WWE doesn't mess up this chance to make some really good rivalries.

18 November 2007 - Brown is playing politics with terrorism
Gordon Brown says we need more than the current 28 days detention without charge for terrorist suspects why? What new evidence does the PM have that we need to increase the current law, when our 28 days is higher than virtually every other country in the world? The reason Brown wants to do this is to make himself look strong and everyone else look weak that is pathetic. Everyone accepts we face a terrorist threat the question is how do we deal with it? People have to have their civil liberties in a democracy and it cannot be right to extend the detention without charge beyond 28 days. First there is no evidence to do so and no case for it. Second the government is trying to use this issue as way to attacking both the Conservatives and liberal democrats who oppose it rightly. Third and lastly, will it stop the terrorist threat and help the fight against it? The answer of course is no. How can we lecture anyone about free and fair democracy if we lock people up with no charge being brought against them for so long? The current law of 28 days is long enough. If the police cant get a case against someone after 28 days then they shouldnt be able to hold anyone any longer. Giving more power to the police when theirs no case or evidence is a desperate act for a desperate Prime Minister who is trying to use this issue to make himself look tough and his political opponents weak. This should be a non-party issue that all the parties should work together on.

11 November 2007 - We should be proud to remember our brave armed forces on remembrance Sunday
It is right we take time today to remember our braved armed forces that have died in fighting for this country's freedom in the last two world wars. Its also important to remember that todays armed forces are doing a heroic job in trying to fight the evils of terrorism in both Afghanistan and Iraq. We owe our armed forces of yesterday and today a great debt. Remember them today.

10 November 2007 - Sunderland get a draw with Newcastle but it should of been more!
Well Sunderland are learning quickly in premiership that if you dont take your chances you get punished. A draw is better than getting beat of course, but Sunderland really had enough chances today to win the Wear/Tyne derby against Newcastle. Its another two points dropped. We have shown over the season so far we have the fight, grit and determination to get results I hope its enough to keep us in the league. I have a feeling that just a few quality players would be able to put it all together for us. Its a scrap down at the bottom of the league but lets be clear we are definitely in the relegation fight we need more points as well good performances as they on their own get you no way. We need some quality to fill the gap and help us get higher in the league. This years relegation battle will be closer than most I just hope all these dropped points and missed opportunities dont come back to haunt us at the end of the season.

6 November 2007 - A government with no direction and no vision
Gordon Browns premiership was suppose to be different a new start for Labour its turned out to be exactly the same as the last failed administration. Same old ideas that have failed for so long, same old spin, same old briefing, renouncement, fake photos and statements outside parliament after they said they would do everything in parliament. Brown is hopeless useless and clueless. He has no new ideas just more of the same that will still fail. Brown has no vision. This government is falling to bites and its taking Britain with it. Lets look at the last few weeks alone, indecision on school budgets, bin taxes will we have them or not, a u-turn on capital gains tax, immigration figures that are completely wrong, troops withdrawals from Iraq that have already happened. What a pathetic excuse for a government, no idea, no clue, no vision no direction, they cant hang on forever, this government has failed and everyone knows it. Its a shame that the British people will have to put up with this dead government for two more years before real change can happen and the next Conservative government can free Britain from failure.

27 October 2007 - Its Time for Sunderland to turn good performances into points today
Sunderland have had two good matches against first Arsenal where we nearly got a draw and last week at West Ham I dont know how we didnt get anything out of the game. Now is the time to turn good performances into points we have to not only play well but also win matches. I hope today against Fulham at the Stadium of light we can get a winning result. We have to start to pick up points. Ill be their today come on Sunderland.

20 October 2007 - England expects today!
After England's football team flopped again on Wednesday against Russia, the nation now looks to some serious British sports stars in the rugby team in the world cup final and Lewis Hamilton in motor racing to actually win something. The football team suck! If they don't qualify for Euro 2008 Steve McClaren deserves the sack and the England football team players should hang their heads in shame. I say bring in Jose Mourinho to make England actually win something. Good look to the rugby team in the world cup final and Lewis Hamilton in the motor racing championship.

19 October 2007 - The nice liberal democrat party stab their leader in the back!
Well the so-called nice liberal democrat party has stabbed their leader Sir Ming Campbell in the back. After the Liberals fell to a low of 11% in the polls the MP's have acted and stabbed their leader in the back. So who will their new leader be? I honestly think Nick Clegg will be their next leader; he's more towards the right of the liberals. The problem the liberals have now is the battle is between the two main parties who both have new leaders and both look like they could win the next election. So Clegg may be a good leader for the liberals but I don't know whether anyone will listen to the liberals. People have a big choice to make at the next general election between the Labour party and the Conservative party.

15 October 2007 - Tories take a 7-point lead over Labour in the polls
Well it really has been a terrible few weeks for Gordon Brown I'm glad to say. With him bottling calling the election, still refusing to give the British people a referendum on the outrageous EU Constitution, the fake announcements of troops withdrawing from Iraq when their already home and Tony Blair's people saying he thinks Brown is making a mess of running the country. Now of course the latest polls look grim for the Prime Minister as well. The Telegraph poll on Sunday puts the Conservatives 7 points ahead of Labour on 43% to Labour's 36%. If this were translated into a general election it would kick Brown out of office and put the Conservatives in government with a small majority. Now I'm not getting over confident and saying we Conservatives will win the next election but it is encouraging that we are back to a winning position for the first time in the polls since 1992. We must be strong and keep setting out our vision for the country, as I believe the Country has seen through Brown's spin and indecisiveness in bottling the election.

8 October 2007 - Brown bottles calling a general election!
Well David Cameron challenged Brown to call a general election at conference last week. Now Brown has bottled it. That's right the Prime Minister is gutless, indecisive and a bottler. Why? It's very straight forward the polls looked bad so he bottled it. What a gutless coward, who was sacred he may lose so he hasn't called this election. The PM has spent the last 3 weeks planning an election putting out his advisors saying their will be an election and then when he realised he might lose he bottled it. Brown is not fit to be PM of this country he has played politics with our troops and he tried to hype up an election only to cancel it when it looks like he would lose. What a pathetic excuse for a Prime Minister and now the only thing that will save him is the 2 to 3 years of his term he has left. Brown is a bottler!

4 October 2007 - Cameron challenges Brown to call a general election
I came back today from my first ever Conservative Party Conference. It's been a great conference. On Tuesday I was on the Daily Politics, yesterday I was on the radio talking about David Cameron's Speech. What a speech it was Cameron showed he has the ability of a Prime Minister in waiting. No autocue, no written speech just a few notes on a few sheets of paper. It was amazing 70 minutes of clear vision of how the next Conservative government would change the country he talked about everything the NHS, education, housing, terrorism, immigration, crime and tax. At the end of the speech Cameron challenged The Prime Minister to call a general election. I said on the radio yesterday and I stand by it today, if Brown has the guts to call the election I say bring it on! So Gordon do you have the guts to call a general election?

24 September 2007 - Sunderland get the better of Boro at the Riverside and a magnificent result!
Sunderland got a magnificent result at the riverside on Saturday. We got a draw away from home in a derby match. I was their watching and even when we were 2-1 down I sensed we could still get something from the game. Thats the thing about this Sunderland team that is different from must other Sunderland teams is that the manager Roy Keane makes sure they fight to the last moment. It certain counted on Saturday as we snatched a point from Boro in the last 2 minutes. Great result guys carry on climbing the premier league table. Come on Sunderland

19 September 2007 - Browns economy is founded on a mountain of debt
The financial insecurity we have seen with the Northern Rock this week is just the tipping point of Britains economic problems that are on the horizon. Gordon Brown in his 10 years as Chancellor has encouraged debt and high spending in both Public and private sectors. Brown has allowed personal debt to reach a record 1.3 Trillion, the idea that Brown or the now Chancellor Darling can lecturer the banks on lending responsibly is a joking considering the government is borrowing 151 Billion Pounds over the next 5 years. The debt in the UK has added a new risk to economic stability. The economy is founded on a mountain of debt it is labours fault and if anything happens it is their mishandling of the economy that is to blame.

18 September 2007 - Geordies brought back to reality - Derby 1 Newcastle 0
Big Sam said he wanted to make Newcastle a big club again and of course as per usual lots of Geordies started to get disillusions of champions league and challenging for the premiership title. Well along comes Derby the worst team in the league who show exactly what Newcastle are all about no consistency! Newcastle is a rubbish team they always have been and they always will be. They will never be able to match the top clubs because theyre not good enough. Their fans are crazy they think they should win everything but the reality is they have won a major trophy for decades. Newcastle will do what they always do lots of hype all season and win absolutely nothing same as every other year.

One of the region's youngest borough councillors says he is revelling in his new role following the local elections in May. Councillor Phillip Broughton, 23, was elected to Stockton Borough Council after standing as a Conservative candidate for the town's Grangefield ward. He is believed to be one of just a handful of councillors under the age of 25 to have represented the borough. Coun Broughton, who lives in Ingleby Barwick, near Stockton, said the main reason for him entering local politics was his desire to help people. He said: "I have always been interested in politics and I want to help people as much as I can. "Working in customer services, I am used to listening to people's problems and trying to sort them out. "Being a councillor is a bit different from what I expected, but I'm certainly enjoying it as much as I thought I would." Coun Broughton is a member of the council's planning committee, a role he was keen to take on. He said: "I think it's the most interesting committee of all. There are so many contentious issues, and there is always good discussion because of the different views on which way a planning decision should go. "However, I do feel that planning policies are a bit too rigid sometimes, and do not allow the views of residents to be taken into account as much as I think they should be." He added that he was in no rush to climb the political ladder. "I want to take it very cautiously," he said. "In a few years I may want to try and go higher, but right now I am concentrating on doing my best for Grangefield and Stockton."

13 September 2007 - Help shape the next Conservative election manifesto
Go to the website by clicking the stand up speak up link below. Vote on the policies you want because unlike Gordon Brown we want to have debate with everyone!
Stand Up Speak Up

11 September 2007 - Brown is arrogant on Europe and shows his new politics is a sham!
Gordon Brown said when he became Prime Minister he wanted to be different. He said he wanted to listen he wanted to govern will consensus and consult the British people more. Of course everyone thought well lets see whether he sticks to the pledge. So that brings me too the first problem that has came along the Europe treaty, which is really the old European constitution. A problem, which, requires consultation debate and discussion the things Brown said he wanted yet he wont even allow any of those things no consultation, no debate and no discussion. Brown wont have a debate because hes scared he loses it, because he thinks he knows best and doesnt care about anyone elses opinion. Brown is the Stalinist politician who thinks the state knows best he is arrogant on Europe hes not bothered about anyone elses opinion thats why he wont give the British people what they want and what they should get a referendum on this European treaty. The government promised a referendum they are breaking their promise, Brown is arrogant and he it not prepared to listen to the British people. The new politics of Gordon Brown is just a new sham!

Anyone who wants a referendum should go to www.iwantareferendum.com sign your name on the petition and make Gordon Brown listen to the people.

21 August 2007 - Its time for British forces to pull out of Iraq and concentrate on Afghanistan
The head of the army has said there is nothing more we can do in Iraq. I agree with that bleak assessment of the military situation in Iraq. I am never one to say we should ever retreat or surrender but in this case I cant see any other option. Our forces are in their barracks and in the Basra airport; they are target practice for the insurgents at the moment. We cant influence the situation on the ground as it continues to deteriorate. It is as the military commanders are saying, we can achieve nothing more in Basra and that the priority should be an orderly withdrawal. What we should do now as painfully as it is to say this because I passionately believe we have the best armed forces in the world, we should pull out of Iraq now and concentrate our efforts on Afghanistan. The main battle should be against the Taliban. They are the main enemy and it is there we should put all our resources.

20 August 2007 - Scrapping Inheritance tax is good idea!
I was very impressed with most of the recommendations in John Redwoods Competitiveness policy group report. If David Cameron is smart and he is he would take on board some of his proposals. I especially like the proposal to scrap inheritance tax, which is an unfair stealth tax. With house prices going through the roof now even more families in the middle class income scale are being sucked into this terrible tax, which penalises anyone who has worked hard and punishes families for one of their relatives dieing. It takes 40% of an individuals wealth on death on any assets over 285,000. In addition it's not fair that people have to pay tax again on their assets just because they have died. People pay far too much tax in Britain and it's about time taxes were coming down in some areas. This is the perfect tax to cut it would only cost the treasury 4 billion pounds which is nothing in the grand scheme of things. It's an unfair terrible tax and it should be scrapped. Labour of course will attack us tax cutters cutting public services. This is simply not true it would be a small tax cut and the 4 billion pounds would be found with easy by cutting Whitehall waste and scrapping the waste of time ID card scheme.

12 August 2007 - My relegation predictions for this premiership season
Derby Wigan and Middlesbrough are the three teams that will be relegated this season. It's a shame about Middlesbrough I would like to see them stay up but I don't think they will.

11 August 2007 - Although Keane won't admit it survival is the target for Sunderland
Today marks the beginning of the new premiership campaign and of course I know as a Sunderland fan that this season will be allot more challenging than last. We are back where we belong in the premiership. Now Sunderland have got to prove we deserve to stay there. It's time to end the notion that Sunderland are a yo yo club up and down all the time. We must become a premiership team once again. Roy Keane might not admit it but this season Sunderland have one target and one target only that is to survive.

5 August 2007 - Edge's injury real hurts Smackdown brand!
It's a real shame to see should a great wrestler like Edge have his title run cut short by an injury. Edge is without a doubt the best heel in the wrestling business at the moment. Edge was only 3 months in to his title reign when the injury happened. Unfortunately Edge could be out for the rest of the year. I think Edge probably would've had a long title run too maybe Survivor Series or even Wrestlemania next year. Smackdown is short on talent the Great Khali is rubbish as world Champion. Edge being out real has damaged the Smackdown brand.

5 August 2007 - My Top 5 WWE Intercontinetal Champions
1.) The Honky Tonk Man - The Greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time!
2.) Mr Perfect
3.) Shawn Michaels
4.) Chris Jericho
5.) Rob Van Dam

29 July 2007 - We Conservatives must hold our nerve, not panic and back our leader David Cameron
The last few weeks have not been the best time to be a conservative. We have seen Gordon Brown get off to a good start as Prime Minister, certainly a lot better than I thought he would. We have had two bad by election results, the mess over grammar schools and of course David Cameron visiting Rwanda when parts of the country were under water. I must say though we must not turn on each other because of a few setbacks. The Brown bounce will not last forever; we must regroup, hold our nerve, not panic and back our leader David Cameron. We need to attack the government and not turn on ourselves.

28 July 2007 - Floods devastate Britain but the government is the problem!
I know I'm known for attacking this government but I have several good points as to why I blame the government for this terrible event that has devastated Britain over the last few weeks. Firstly the met office told the government four months ago this was going to happen and they did as usual nothing. Second the Chancellor in last August whos now Prime Minister Gordon Brown cut the flooding defences budget by 15 Million Pounds. Third this is the government that has built hundreds of thousands of houses on flood plain areas. Lastly they now want to build an extra 3 Million homes many of those in, you guested it flood plain areas. What a bunch of fools.

22 July 2007 - We need more troops! Head of the army!
The head of the army General Sir Richard Dannatt has told the government the truth we need more troops in the army. You would think a competent government would have realised that years ago but this is the government that has cut the armed forces of our country. Our brave armed forces are at overstretched, overworked and are near breaking point. We need more forces in the frontline certainly in Afghanistan where already 6,000 troops are struggling to hold back the resurgent forces of the Taliban. General Dannatt estimates we need at least 13,000 troops in Afghanistan and I agree with him we need more troops we can't just expect our armed forces to carry on without more reinforcements and supplies. The government in my view have forgotten about the armed forces and it's about time they started doing something about this instead of just talking about it. It's no good asking other NATO members to do more, they wont. The government should be doing more it should be funding our armed forces properly not complaining to other countries to do something.

10 July 2007 - King Roger reigns supreme for the 5th time at Wimbledon
Roger Federer accomplished the unthinkable and equalled Bjorn Borg's Wimbledon record by winning 5 Wimbledon titles in a row. It was a fantastic match on Sunday Nadal pushed Federer to a new limit and had his chances in the final set to go a break up. I would say Nadal is getting closer to Federer who just edged the final on Sunday. What a great achievement by Federer well done Roger as a massive tennis fan I think your the best.

28 June 2007 - Blair is gone Brown is in and the phoney war is over!
Well it's finally happened the transition is over Brown is now the Prime Minister. The phoney war is now over the real battle in British politics is set to begin Cameron vs. Brown. Cameron must not let this man run away from his record of failure in the last 10 years with Blair. Cameron must remind people that it is Brown who opposed all of Blair's public service reforms, who also bankrupt the pensions system and who has imposed the highest tax level in British History. Brown can not escape his record and I say bring him on. If Brown wants a general election then let's have one.

26 June 2007 - Why British voters must have a vote on the EU constitution
The outgoing Prime Minister Tony Blair at the weekend, in his last act as PM signed away more powers from Britain to Brussels in a shameful act of betrayal. Blair surrendered as so often in the past by giving away powers and now Blair and his successor Gordon Brown are going to break their manifesto commitment at the last general election to give the people a say on this constitution. This proves that Brown is just like Blair full of empty spin and broken promises. The British People deserve and were promised a referendum on this issue it's is now time for the government to give the people a say, Brown said he would listen and give power to people well this is his first test let's see if he keeps his word. Why should we have a referendum well here's what this constitution does;

British Veto abolished in more than 40 areas including migration, energy and transport
EU to get single legal personality with the right to sign treaties like a single country
Creation of EU foreign minister and diplomatic service
Creation of EU President
End to each member state appointing its own EU Commissioner
Creation of EU public prosecutor with right to initiate legal proceedings
New powers for EU court of justice over UK criminal law

Irish Premier Bertie Ahern - "The new treaty reproduced 90 per cent of the EU constitution rejected in 2005"

I demand a referendum on this treaty, which is in fact the discredited constitution in all but name.

19 June 2007 - Early release of 2,000 criminals shows Lord Falconer and the Government are liars!
6 weeks ago Lord Falconer told Adam Bolton on sky news that the government would not allow criminals out early on early release schemes to help the prison over crowding situation. Today lord Falconer now the justice minister will actually do what he said he would not do and release 2,000 criminals from jails he and the government have lied yet again. This whole shambles shows just us how this government works and proves that they are soft on crime and soft on the causes of crime. A real, serious government would have planned for more prisons they would have built them but no just let the criminals out is Labour's answer what a pathetic excuse for a government we have. The fact is 2,000 criminals like burglars and drug dealers are going to be set free onto our streets because this government couldnt be bothered to build the prisons to hold them. The sheer scale of incompetence shows Labour has lost the plot on law and order. Tony Blair and his government are the worst government in history.

18 June 2007 - Mr. McMahon is dead what a stupid storyline!
Everyone in the wrestling world is talking about the Vince McMahon limo explosion on Raw last week. Is Vince really dead? The answer of is no. WWE has sunk to a new low. It's a stupid storyline and in my view shows just how desperate WWE is at the moment. People don't watch wrestling for stupid over the top nonsense storylines like this. It's going to be really silly when Vince does turn back up on TV in a few weeks time. I don't know where theyre going with this and frankly I don't care. I want to watch a wrestling show not stupid nonsense like this.

11 June 2007 - Blair's long goodbye damaging Britain
What a stupid political situation we have at the moment in Britain. We have the Prime Minister Tony Blair still in place for another 16 Days as PM doing absolutely nothing, just touring the world embarrassing us, just like he did last week at the G8. The rest of the world leaders didn't give a stuff what Blair thought, no body does he's going, he is irrelevant, he is a failure of a Prime Minister and this legacy or farewell tour has done nothing to help his appalling situation. The British people will be glad to see the back of Blair he has ruined Britain over the last 10 years and so has his successor Gordon Brown and no amount of speeches and visits here and their will change that fact. Blair is a failure why should we have to wait for Blair's departure timetable? Why do we have to put up with this lame duck prime minister for another 2 weeks? Lets get on with the next battle for the country bring on Gordon Brown. Everyone wants to get on and see Cameron vs. Brown.

13 May 2007 - If Tevez had been at a northern club there would of been points deducted
I am in no doubt that the FA has something against northern clubs the Tevez case is proof of it. How can the FA not deducted points from West Ham United when they have broke two league rules bringing in two players via a third party business man. Middlesbrough missed one game because most of their team werent fit and they got deducted 3 points but because West Ham are a London based club no points are taken off. I think its terrible and if Wigan gets relegated today I would expect legal action to take place. So West Ham may stay up today but I dont think the matter will end there.

12 May 2007 - Blair exits the stage, Brown launches his bid and the British people want a general election!
Tony Blair once again displayed his excellent acting skills yesterday by trying to say how Great Britain had been over the last 10 years with him as Prime Minister. Of course must people are glad the fool is leaving and want rid of him. Gordon Brown launched his bid to be the next PM. We the British people who were told that Blair would serve a full third term want a general election over 60% of us want an election now and don't just want Gordon Brown put on us. Brown will be a terrible PM everyone knows it. If you think Blair was bad Brown is worse. This idea that Brown is new is also completely ridiculous he with Blair are the co-architect in the last 10 years of complete failure he is not the change that Britain needs. I say when Brown takes over their should be a general election. I know Brown hasn't got the guts to call one because he would lose.

7 May 2007 - Sunderland win the Championship
Just when I thought my week couldn't get any better it did. Sunderland are heading back where we belong to the Premiership I can't wait. Roy Keane will have to spend some cash over the summer but I can't wait for next season I think we will not only stay in the league but also do well.

5 May 2007 - The final results are in and yes Blair got a kicking!
Tony Blair is in denial about the local elections results. The fact is the British people have had enough of this useless Government. We the Tories have a major break through not just in the north but also across the whole country. Labour has had the worst election result in Scotland for 50 years and one of the worst election results in England losing 485 council seats. We the Tories have hit the 40% mark enough to win a general election and won 875 council seats of which one was my seat. What an excellent election result! Blair you are finished bring on Gordon Brown!

4 May 2007 - I get elected as a Tory Councillor in Grangefield!
I am so pleased at getting elected. I'm in politics at last, very happy. The whole team across Stockton has worked really hard and we deserve it.

23 April 2007 St Georges day should be a national holiday
I think everyone in England would like a day to celebrate this great nation of ours. I support the idea of St Georges day being a bank holiday. I dont support it because Im some sort of little Englander, I support the idea because I think it is only right to allow all of us English people the opportunity to celebrate the nation and its great achievements. Ireland has St. Patricks as a holiday why cant England have St. Georges Day? I am proud to be English and I know that probably the vast majority of the country is too. There is nothing wrong with being patriotic. Lets all keep calling for St. Georges Day to be a national holiday. Happy St. George's day everyone!

10 April 2007 - My Top 5 types of pie to eat
1.) Pork pie the best
2.) Cornish pie - awesome
3.) Apple pie
4.) Steak and kidney pie
5.) Shepherd's Pie

9 April 2007 - Sunderland top of the Championship
I must say I can't believe I'm saying this but yes Sunderland are top of the Championship tonight after a brilliant 2-1 win against Southampton. To think of where Sunderland were when Roy Keane took over bottom of the league and talking about just staying in the league too now top of the league. Unbelievable. Roy Keane is the saviour of Sunderland. The way the division is looking now with Derby only getting another draw and Birmingham beaten again the opportunity is their for Sunderland to not only get automatic promotion but the championship title too.

28 March 2007 - Iran kidnapping British Military personnel is an outrage
The Government is doing the right thing in demanding the return of the 15 British service personnel kidnapped last Friday by Iran. The Iranian government is a disgrace they had no right to take our forces especially since there were in Iraqi waters. If Iran doesn't return our troops then a new phase must be entered and eventually who knows where that may end up. I have said on this website many times that Iran is a dangerous country the world should take notice of these actions and wake up to the reality of the Iranian regime. The whole international community must understand that we have to watch what they are doing and I repeat again we can't allow this Iranian regime to acquire a nuclear weapon.

16 March 2007 - Gloom on the toon
Ha ha Newcastle knocked out of the UEFA Cup! There's nothing more I like then to see those Geordies beaten. How can a team lose a 4-2 advantage in the UEFA Cup well I suppose we know how, Newcastle are one of the worst teams of all time that's how.

16 March 2007 - Blair humiliated on trident vote
Tony Blair suffered yet another damaging blow to his already battered authority on Wednesday, thanks to the 95 Labour MPs who rebelled against the government on replacing trident. Blair is a lame duck prime minister according to former commons speaker and former labour MP Betty Boothroyd. I think she is absolutely right if Blair can't carry a flagship policy to his own members of parliament then clearly he has no authority what so ever. Blair was right on trident and that's why we supported him David Cameron has once again shown that sometimes in politics you have to put the national interest ahead of any political interest that will stand him in good stead with the country. Blair on the other hand is finished. Blair, who had the world at his feet in 1997, 3 massive majorities, and all the political capital in the world and a country ready to follow him. 10 years on the man is broken by his own policies he has blown any type of legacy he was ever going to have. All Blair has is 4 months left and 10 years of disastrous failure. How damaging for our country to have to put up with this lame duck Prime Minster in office but not in power.

14 March 2007 - Why Tory votes have to save Blair on trident today
Today in parliament there is a very important vote on the future direction of our country. The vote is whether Britain should retain it's nuclear deterrent. The Labour party is split over the issue, the liberals are against it, and fortunately it is my party, the Conservative party that is for it. There is going to be a rebellion against the government by members of the Labour Party. The fact is alot of the left wing dinosaurs in the Labour party who are going to try and vote this down never wanted Britain to have nuclear weapons in the first place. These rebels now see a chance to do what they have always wanted to do to get rid of the best guarantee for peace there is. Nuclear weapons have kept the peace between nations states for over 60 years. These MPs on the left are mad, do they really think if we give up our nuclear weapons that everyone else will too? If we get rid of our nuclear weapons it will only encourage rogue nation states like Iran to press ahead with their weapons programs. We live in an uncertain world we need protection against all sorts of threats, the threats of today and the possible future threats that we cannot predict. The issue of cost is not important when it comes to the national security; 20 Billion pounds is a small price to pay for Britain's long-term security. Britain needs a nuclear deterrent now more than ever I hate to say it but we must back Blair today, but lets not forget that Blair has had to change his position we have not changed ours. We have always backed nuclear weapons he hasn't, we must look out for the national interest today, keep trident and keep our country safe.

10 March 2007 - Countdown to Blair's Legacy of failure - New dental contracts add more to the legacy of failure
7.) 2,000 NHS Dentists walk out of NHS Dentistry thanks to the governments new dental contracts in the NHS.
8.) Increasing number of patients in dental care are going private with patients paying the NHS charges falling from expected 541 Million to 417 Million.
9.) 1.4 Million fewer people are without an NHS Dentist because of the dental contracts in one year from 2006-7.

8 March 2007 - Send Illegal immigrants a text messages to leave the UK - does John Reid have a brain?
This government really are hopeless useless and clueless. Now can you believe this government are now going to send text messages to illegal immigrants and ask them to leave the country. Oh wait I can just see that happening your an illegal immigrant you check your mobile one morning and it's the home office because they don't have clue where you are and how many of you their are - they send you a text message asking you nicely can you leave the country? Well what are you going to do I wonder....... This is completely and totally stupid. Theirs nothing else I can say - John Reid do you have a brain? This is the most stupid thing I have ever heard. What an amateur government!

7 March 2007 - David Cameron right to challenge the direction of Europe
David Cameron is absolutely right to take on the Europe Union and challenge the organisation to meet the challenges of the 21st Century, not to waste time obsessing about the past. I think it is right to point out that Europe is heading in the wrong direction. Europe wants a constitution; it wants everyone country to have the same currency the Euro and same foreign policy determined by a European Foreign minister who speaks on behalf of all EU Countries. These ideas are the first major steps to a federal super state called Europe and it is totally wrong. The British people want our parliament to make decisions not Europe telling us what to do. In other words we are in Europe but not run by Europe. A modern flexible Europe should be about nation states working together as equal partners to combat common problems like climate change, terrorism and globalisation. I say no to a European Super state run from the centre.

3 March 2007 - The North East's lesser derby game - Newcastle vs. Middlesbrough
Today sees the two lesser teams in the North East battle it out for 3 points in the premiership. Wait till next season when the best team in the North East is back in the premiership - Sunderland. I'll give my prediction for the score today in the derby. Boro will destroy the luckiest team in the league Newcastle. The score will be 3-0 to the Boro. 2 goals for Viduka and 1 for Yakubu. Come on Boro beat those Geordies.

24 February 2007 - New feature on website - Countdown to Blair's Legacy of failure
Every so often I'll put two things that Blair has done to the country in his 10 years of failure. When he finally leaves Downing Street sometime in June/July I'll put them all together as a long list a dossier so to speak of his catalogue of failures. Heres the first two;
1.) Blair's lies on Iraq about weapons of mass destruction
2.) MRSA Superbug deaths double under Blair with 5,400 people dead.

23 February 2007 The difference between Thatcher and Blair is that Thatcher has a legacy and Blair doesnt
On Wednesday night a statue of a truly great Prime Minister was added to the palace of Westminister that statue was of Margaret Thatcher. Thats right Mrs. T stands with other great Prime Ministers like Lloyd George, Clement Attlee and the best Winston Churchill. If you think of any of these Prime Ministers you think of greatness of what they achieved of their legacy. When you think of Margaret Thatchers Legacy you think of her stand against the evil Soviet Union, she took on and defeated the over powerful trade union, she privatised many inefficient nationalised industries, She liberalised foreign exchange restrictions, she slashed income tax and help create the great economic boom of the 1980s that changed Britain into a great economic powerhouse with more shareholders, businesses and home ownership. This is a true legacy of change a true legacy of great Prime Minister. Then we take Tony Blair the man who has lived on the spin of the last ten years he wants a legacy Ill tell him his legacy. Out of control immigration, crime up, taxes at their highest ever, the NHS in Debt sacking nurses and doctors, a false war in Iraq based on lies and the sleaziest government in history selling peerages to the highest bidder that is the Blair legacy. When you compare the two there is no comparison Thatcher was a great PM and Blair a disastrous failure. The difference between Thatcher and Blair is Thatcher has a legacy and Blair doesnt.

20 February 2007 - 1.7 Million people tell the government where to stick their toll tax
The government has taken a very important kicking on the issue of their proposed toll tax. Over 1.7 Million people have now signed the petition against this unfair stealth tax. Also today in a poll commisioned by the BBC 74% of people are opposed to the idea of charging motorists by the mile. However despite this very loud and angry protest from the British people this government still intent to press ahead with their 10 pilot schemes across the country. Cant the government understand that the points in this policy are totally unacceptable? The first being that the system is installed in your car and knows where you are going, that is against peoples freedom and the second, which is just as bad the fact that this is nothing more than a stealth tax. Mr. Blair I look forward to your e-mail about this because the fact is no one trusts you or your government.

18 February 2007 Sunderland slaughter Southend 4-0 but the real test is the next three league games
I was very happy with our fantastic 4-0 victory yesterday against Southend. I know that it was a very good win and one of the best wins we have had in years. Now of course the big test is the next 3 games in the league we are playing 3 of the top sides in the championship. We have Birmingham, the league leaders Derby and West Brom. We must get some wins if we are to have any chance of automatic promotion to the premiership. The next three games in my opinion will determine the rest of the season for Sunderland, will we seize the advantage and take our chance of promotion or will we come up short and end up in the play offs which we all know is risky business. The next 3 are crucial games lets hope Sunderland take the chance and rise to the ocassion.

12 February 2007 - Toll Tax Outrageous please sign the petition against it!
This useless Government is trying to bring in an outrageous tax on travel. Its what Im calling the toll tax. The plan is to put a tracking device in your car which will cost you 200 and charge you 1.34 for every mile you travel it is totally unacceptable. On top of the massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. The device will also know how fast you going and of course will add speed offences to your bill. If you care about freedom and stopping the constant bashing of the motorist then please go to the website and sign the petition. If you would like to sign the petition against this outrageous policy then please go to the website below to let the government know that your not going to be penalised for travelling;

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/

10 February 2007 Knives are out for McClaren already
Its not hard to believe but as usual our press has found a scape goat. The scape goat is Steve McClaren. The fact that our football team is useless doent seem to matter, all the press are bothered about is getting Steve McClaren sacked. Well if that happens, what next? should we then sack the next manager who also wont be able to do a thing with the team. Its crazy why dont the press attack the bad performances of the England players and not the manager all the time. The defeat to Spain was a bad result no doubt but its not the end of the world. The next two qualifiers is what Steve McClaren should be judged on, if we dont qulaify for the European championships then possibly then you could start to talk about replacing the manager but the press just will not let someone have time to get into a job before they want them sacked. Lets give McClaren a fair chance after all it is England hes managing.

6 February 2007 - The EU Constitution is an insult to British Democracy
Even though just 2 years ago the EU Constitution was voted down by voters in France and Holland it seems as though the german chancellor wants to bring it back. Angela Markel the German Chancellor has said that her country wants to resurrect the constitution. The government have responsed in their typical oh dont worry about it fashion, even though this constitution would seriously threat British democracy. This was the response from a downing street spokeman last week - a pared down document could be nodded through by MPs to make an enlarged EU work more effectively. He went on to say We think the best European Constitution is a simple constitution. The result of a simple constitiution would be that we would not have to hold a referendum. This is outrageous, if its simple the government wont give the British People a vote. The British People dont want to be governed by brussels and the EU they want the British Parliament to run Britain. Here are the facts about the constitution it would create a permant EU President, a permant EU foreign minster and a massive extension of majority voting in areas such justice and home affairs and give the EU the right to sign treaties for the first time. This is centralistaion by the back door. They couldnt win the argument in a election so now their going to try and bypass the people and ram it through without anyone noticing. This Constitution is a blueprint for a federal superstate, ran from the centre it is completely wrong and it is a insult to British democracy.

30 January 2007 Crime figures show Labour has lost control of crime
For all Tony Blairs tough talk on crime the latest recorded crime figures show that Labour has lost control of crime.

25 January 2007 - Blair gutless on Iraq
Yesterday in parliament their was a debate on Iraq. This debate was serious and important for the future of our country, Iraq and rest of the world. Yet where was our Prime Minister when the debate was happening? well giving a speech to the CBI of course. What a gutless Prime Minister Tony Blair is. Blair was desperate to discuss the issue when the war happening, now that Iraq is in a complete mess, he doesnt have the guts to go to parliament and defend his position. On Sunday we had our 130th British Solider killed in Iraq, what a brave man like all our great armed force who are out in Iraq fighting for their lives and for our country. Our soliders are brave and our Prime Minister is gutless.

25 January 2007 The prisons are full!
It is absolutely scandalous that the prisons are full. We the conservatives having been telling the government for nearly a decade to build more prisons and what is their answer to the prison crisis. Well the Home Secrtary the right honorably useless John Reid has written a letter to all judges and magistrates asking them not to send anyone else to prison. This is crazy how can the govenrment let out dangerous prisoners and in doing so completely fail to protect the public. We all know this is going to happen the Prime Minister yesterday in the Commons refused to rule out early release for some criminals, when asked by David Cameron. This is without a doubt one of the worst records on crime under any government of all time with gun crime doubling, violent crime up and criminals now knowing that if they commit a crime the government wont send them to prison because the jails are full. Blair said tough on crime, tough on the cause of crime. More like weak on crime, weak on the causes of crime. Labour cant be trusted on crime.

21 January - We must challenge the under class of Britain who dont tolerate anyone
I dont like Big Brother at all. I think it is a rubbish programme and cant understand why anyone wants watches it. There is one thing that has come out of this whole sorry Jade Goody affair. The fact that there are a number of people in this great country of ours that dont understand anything. Jade Goody is the ultimate example of the modern chav who doesnt understand other cultures and other people. I find it very upsetting that many people in our country dont understand and have no tolerance for anyone different. It is appaling that some people judge a person on their background, race or sexual orientation. What counts about people is what is in their heart and what is in their head. We must take on people with no tolerance where ever they are.

17 January 2007 Blairs delusional he is the one who has cut our great armed forces
I have always considered Tony Blair to be a delusional man but now you can see the evidence of that statement. The man has lost the plot. The PM says we have to be warfighters and peacekeepers, well after he leaves office. Well if my memory serves me correctly (and it usually does) this is the PM who has done everthing in his power to undermine our brillaint armed forces. The cheek of Blair to turn round and say we need to fight more on the world stage when he has cut the resources that our armed forces have, when they are overtsrached in both Iraq and Agfhanistan. This man is delusional and probably the most unless Prime Minister this country hasd ever had. Blair talks about his record well here is your record since 1997, you Tony have cut our armed forces by 2,000 troops, one aircraft carrier, four detroyers, six frigates and 13 RAF squadrons. That is the truth I know you dont like the truth but the fact is Labour cant be trusted to defend Britain, theirs only one party in British Politics that cares about the armed forces and thats the Conservative Party.

17 January 2007 - President Bushs last throw of the dice
President Bush is having one last go, like the addicted gambler who wants one more go on the roulette table even though he has lost most of his money. President Bush has decided to completely ignore the Baker Report which he set up and send an extra 21,500 troops into Iraq. The President is sure that sending this force in will bring victory in Iraq. Im afraid the President is not facing the truth, the truth is the situation in Iraq is a mess. Sending more troops in now is crazy and it will not improve the sitaution it will make it worse. What the US and Britain should be doing now is helping the Iraqis train more troops and police so that they can take control of the situation. In addition to start a phased withdrawal from Iraq, that is what the political consenus is, that is what the Baker report argues for and what most voters in the US and Britain want. Bushs last throw will not make any difference what so ever.

8 January 2007 - Sunderland must strengthen in the transfer window to have a chance of getting promotion
I saw the result on Saturday, that preston had once again defeated Sunderland only this time in the FA Cup. Preston really are our boogey team. I think we really need to strengthen the squad in this january transfer window to have any chance of promotion. Sunderland have been doing a lot better getting good results. However we all know that we have to be very good to get promoted we have to be able to compete and beat the top sides in the championship. At the moment we doing very well agiainst the bottom sides and doing ok against some of the top sides. Im afraid when it comes to who gets promoted thats not good enough we have to able to beat the top sides too. Obviously the Rory Keane revolution has already started but now we need more players and ones with better quality to gurantee promotion. We need to start winning the big games at the top of the league.

1 January 2007 Romania and Bulgaria join the EU 600,000 migrants heading for Britain but don't worry they've got a piece of cardboard as ID
Migrants from Bulgaria and Romania coming to Britain from today will not need a passport. A Romanian think tank the Open Foundation predicts up to 2.5 Million of its citizens leaving to work aboard with up to 450,000 heading for Britain. An estimated 150,000 Bulgarians are also expected, making the total coming to the UK being 600,000. The government is yet again at fault for not taking action to prevent our borders being abused. The government had the power to make Passports compulsory. Of course as usual they decided not to bother doing anything. The Government refused to use the national veto to prevent the new EU directive becoming law an opportunity taken by the Czech republic, Sweden and Cyprus. So basically the government knows that migrants are coming to Britain without passports and more than likely fake documents or so called ID Cards. These ID cards, which consist of a folded piece of cardboard with a handwritten name and a stapled photo. I agree with Sir Andrew Green of Migration watch, who said, Its appalling that we should accept such a flimsy proof of identity to commit entry to the UK. Obviously, its wide open to abuse. The government has lost the plot on immigration and is going to sit back and allow our borders to be abused this government is absolutely pathetic.

31 December 2006 - My top 5 moments of 2006
1.) Me appearing on TV twice in the space of a week. I was on question time and the daily politics in June.
2.) Seeing WWE Monday Night Raw live in the Manchester Evening News Arena in November.
3.) Labour Party getting stuffed in the local elections, by us Tories in May.
4.) Roy Keane - becoming the new Sunderland manager in August.
5.) Edge cashing in his money in the bank contract and pleasing every wrestling fan in the world by ending John Cena's title run at News Years Revolution in January.

31 December 2006 The Execution of Saddam will not help the Iraq Disaster
Many in America on the right think that the execution of Saddam Hussein in Iraq yesterday will finally bring an end to the blood bath that has been the Iraq Disaster. How wrong they are. All that Killing Saddam will do is to create a martyr of which more extremists will flock to and try to carry out more attacks. We will see the level of violence in Iraq rise, as his followers will want revenge for his death. I realise the man was evil beyond doubt but killing him is not the answer.

All we had to do was take him out of Iraq and stick him in a prison somewhere, preferably as far away as possible from Iraq. If hes no longer in the country theirs no chance of him getting power back and in that case no point fighting for him. He wouldnt be dead so you would not have created a martyr for extremists to follow.

I think we know now that Iraq is on the edge of the destruction and killing Saddam doesnt solve anything apart from giving Bush and Blair the chance to have some good headlines for a few days. Iraqs problems are bigger than Saddam he is not the solution to the problem. The problem is I dont think anyone has a solution for Iraq.

24 December 2006 - My top 3 Christmas songs
1.) I wish it could be Christmas everyday - Roy Wood with Wizzard

3.) Last Christmas - Wham

17 December 2006 Secret Memo The public sees the government as a shambles
A leaked memo says that Labour has no chance of winning the next general election because the public think the government is a shambles. The verdict of the downing street memo drawn up by a senior advisor to Tony Blair sets out a very bleak view of the political situation for Labour. The secret document accepts that;

Labours standing in the country is so low that they may have to dump Gordon Brown and get a totally new leader.
That the public believes the Labour Party is divided by internal conflict
Labour has shown a lack of grip and competence on the main issues facing the country including Iraq immigration and the NHS.
People are moving to the Conservatives and Labour is floundering on every major issue.

A sample from the secret memorandum
The conservatives have moved into a consolidated six point or so lead. This builds on leads on tax, crime, Immigration and parity on the NHS, Education and even the economy. Labour no longer has a measurable lead on any issue. The Government is seen as a shambles. It is not just Labour internal conflicts but a lack of grip and competence on key issues. Iraq is a potent and raw issue, so is the NHS, Immigration and crime. We have lost control of the big issues and are not delivering.

This memo confirms everything that I and lots of other people have been saying for a long time, that this government is hopeless, useless and divided. The question is how much longer are we going to have to put up with this lame duck Prime Minister and his dodgy Chancellor.

14 December 2006 - Overstretch putting our troops at risk!
The full extend of failure by Labour to protect and support our armed forces was exposed yesterday. The Commons Defence Select Committees report published yesterday makes clear that our soldiers are in danger of overstretch. The report reveals that 30% of units are showing serious and critical weakness in having enough troops and supplies ready for deployment. The report goes on to say that there is serious concern over these failures. The report condemns the government for cutbacks in training, which it says undermines the effectiveness of our armed forces. All of this after this Government cut our army by 4,000 people and scrapped warships to the point, where now France has a bigger navy then us - outrageous. Our brave and brilliant armed forces that I support absolutely, have massive deployments of troops in both Iraq and Afghanistan, are not getting the support from this terrible Labour government. Indeed the cheek of the government, who ask so much of our armed forces and yet arent prepared to back them fully, when they are ones risking their lives for our security. This is without a doubt the biggest and most unacceptable failure from this government. Tony Blair you should be ashamed of yourself. War after war, cutback after cutback this government has treated our armed forces disgracefully.

10 December 2006 - Premiership title could be decided Sir Alex Nine Points Clear
The Premiership title race is over. Thats right I think Manchester United now nine points clear, have got it, they are unstoppable. I dont even think Chelsea can catch them. Sir Alex Ferguson is determined to win the premiership title and finally put an end to Chelseas unbeaten run of form of the last two seasons. I never thought I would hear myself say this but come on Arsenal (Calais FC) beat Chelsea to help Man U win the title. Come on Man U.

7 December 2006 - David Cameron has had a good year
David Cameron yesterday celebrated one year as leader of the Conservative party. I think we can say that he has had a good year. There is still a lot that needs to be done. I think Cameron has rightly talked about the environment and the health service over the last year. However he cant ignore issues that grassroots members like myself are worried about such crime, tax and immigration. Yes David its been a good year and Im happy so far but there are still issues that you need to addressed. We should be doing a lot better in the opinion polls with a lame duck Prime Minister and deeply unpopular government against us.

8 November 2006 - The Problem with football is the Premiership
I honestly think that Football has become too much of a money orientated game. You see the top clubs in the premiership and all you see is mass amounts of money and huge football stars creaming off the situation. The problem with football is the Premiership. I know some people will say your talking rubbish its the best league in the world, well yes perhaps it is. The question is though for whom? If you support Chelsea or Manchester United then yes its a great league but what about the other club supporters what do they have to look forward to. Really the Premiership is a 2 horse race as usual with all the other clubs desperate to avoid the relegation thats all there is too the league its too predictable. Your not going to see Portsmouth or Bolton or even Watford challenge for the title because the 2 big clubs have such an unfair advantage over the other clubs in terms of money and resources. Now I'm not complaining about the 2 clubs being successful thats a good thing all Im saying is that if fans want to watch really good football where anything can happen then the premiership is the last place you want to look. I prefer the Championship the teams are all fairly even, similar size clubs and players, which makes for good matches. Its really exciting English league football anyone can the win the championship, anyone can get relegated, one week you can win 4-0 and the next get beat 5-1 the teams are that close. The most important thing that football fans want is excitement and the closest thing you get to that is the championship and lower leagues where players pride and passion rather then money and resources prevail. Forget the premiership and four gone conclusions.

3 November 2006 An inquiry into Iraq is necessary
An inquiry into the disastrous decision to go to war in Iraq is necessary. Let me say first of all that I support British forces wherever they are and support them in their actions in both Afghanistan and Iraq. I know that Blair is trying to portray anyone who questions his decisions on Iraq as if they are attacking our troops. Of course as I have said this is absolutely ridiculous as everyone supports British troops. The questions that need to be answered are indeed important such as, why was the intelligence on Iraq so wrong? Why did the Government sex up the intelligence? Why did the Government have no plan ready for after the war? And where is the exit stragety from Iraq? We need to learn lessons from this decision, it was wrong to go into Iraq and it is about time the government admitted it. Obviously we are their now so we need to stay in Iraq the country can protect it's own freeodm. We need an inquiry, independent of Government to tell us why things have gone so wrong. I know Blair doesnt like opposition but I think David Cameron is doing the right thing to ask questions of the government. The government is being held to account and that is a good thing. We should have concentrated our resources in Afghanistan and sorted that country out first before we went anyone else. Today the National Audio Office are saying that our armed forces are overstretched and under funded. It is Blairs Government to blame for all of these problems and its about time Blair and his government were held to account for the mess they have got us into. An inquiry should follow.

23 October 2006 - Labour is playing politics with our NHS
The Labour Government has sunk to a new low even for them. Not only have they started to make massive cuts in the NHS with 20,000 Jobs being cut, Wards being shut and Hospitals being closed but also now we find out their true nature. The fact that more cuts are happening in opposition constituencies then in Labour ones proves that this government is an absolute disgrace. A hospital in a Tory or Lib Dem constituency is more than twice as like to face cuts as hospitals in Labour constituencies. The exact figures are outrageous 34 percent of Tory and 37 percent of Lib Dem seats in England and Wales have been affected by cuts that have been announced or proposed. Only 14 percent of Labour seats are affected. They should be a shamed of such a political motivated move but of course they have no shame this is the most sleazed Government of modern history. And so the sooner they are kicked out the better.

22 October 2006 Iranian President attacks Europe for supporting Israel
The President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over the weekend attacked Europe because of its support for Israel and said that Europe may get hurt if anger in the region reaches boiling point and Europe doesnt stop supporting Israel. He went on to say that Israel no longer had any reason to exist and would soon disappear. The man is mad its a simple as that and the idea of him getting a nuclear weapon scares the hell out of me. If he is prepared to say such disguising things then what would the man do with a nuclear weapon. Europe, US and everyone in the UN should bring heavy sanctions on Iran and most important the UN shouldnt be afraid to take military action as a last resort against Iran.

October 2 2006 - Southgate faces the axe
After Middlesbrough got beat again one can only assume that Gareth Southgates job as Middlesbrough Manager hangs in the balance. If Middlesbrough can't beat Sheffield United in the premiership, which is one of the weak sides in the league, then how on Earth can they not to be relegated? Middlesbrough need to get a decent manager and let the team play with the freedom and not be so negative all the time. I think the truth is Southgate can't motivate the players and doesn't have any new ideas I think it's a really shame that Middlesbrough aren't doing better I think a change of in manager is needed. If the run of bad results continue I think Southgate will get the push. I give Southgate till Christmas at the longest to survive as manager. So let's see.

September 29 2006 - Blair's Long Goodbye
Well it happened again the Labour party conference came and has gone. Every year we get the Chancellor Gordon Brown trying to out do the Prime Minister Tony Blair. Every year we get the same outcome Blair wins hands down. Brown is desperate to be PM he knows the longer Blair stays the more chance he will face a challenger for the leadership it maybe be Alan Johnson but my money is on John Reid the Home secretary. Blair has given such a powerful performance this week, he always does he's a great actor, sometimes I nearly believe him. The fact is Blair's political strategy now is to stop Gordon. That's how simple it is he knows if he stays in place till next may he can allow someone the time to challenge Brown. This is not good for the country but it will help Labour get beat at the next election and I say carry on Blair.

September 11 2006 - 5 Years on the War on Terror is still right
5 years ago day the worst terrorist attack in history took place that changed the world forever. America and the Rest of the world realised that we most take more action to prevent terrorism rather then sitting around waiting for attacks to happen. All these people who say that we should pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan are talking complete rubbish. I know it is difficult to fight this war but it is necessary. We have to defeat these people in their breeding grounds we have to stop them planning attacks on the rest of the world and taking the fight to them is the only way to do it. There is no opting out on the war on terror.

September 11 2006 A bloody week for Blair and Labour
Last week was a bloody week for the Labour Party and the final chapter in the Blair administration. In a week that saw letters calling for Blairs Resignation, a plotting Chancellor who is desperate to becoming the next Prime Minister and us Tories take a ten-point lead in the opinion polls. Blair finally had to bow to pressure and do the unthinkable by naming a timetable for his departure but no date. After you clear all the arguing, infighting and plotting the fact is the policies of Blair and Brown are exactly the same and the problem for Labour is they cant run a raffle never mind the country. In addition a change from Blair to Brown will make no difference the fact is people have had enough of Labour government and they want a change and Labour have nothing new to offer. Brown will offer exactly the same as Blair and that is more of the same and more failure.

September 4 2006 - Iran Defies the UN and President Bush is ready to take action
Iran has suprise suprise not lived up to the UN resolution which said it must stop it's uranium enrichment programme. Yet now Kofi Annan has been in Tehran shaking hands with a man who wants a nuclear weapon and denies the holocaust ever happened. Their is only President Bush who is prepared to stand up to Iran and take them on, which is what has to be done. We can't allow a mad man like the Iranian President to develop a nuclear weapon, action may have to be taken sooner rather then later. For now world leaders should be putting pressure on Iran. If they still show no signs of giving up their enrichment programme then sanctions should follow. The UN and the world must not show weakness now.

September 4 2006 - Sunderland make 6 signings on the last day of transfer window
Roy Keane has come to Sunderland and within his first 72 Hours has signed half a new team. Keane has made some great signings including;
Dwight Yorke from Sydney FC
Graham Kavanagh from Wigan
Stanislav Varga and Ross Wallace from Celtic
Liam Miller Midfielder from Manchester United
David Connolly Striker from Republic of Ireland
Let's see how the they fit into the team. It looks like Keane will get more out of the players he's got and now has some new faces to help Sunderland's promotion bid. I think with this new group of players coming to Sunderland we will be shooting up the Championship Table.

August 29 2006 - Sunderland heading in the right direction with Roy Keane
I watched the Sunderland game against West Brom yesterday. I was very impressed with our performance we played better then we have for years. We controlled the whole game and we scored 2 but could had 6. I think Roy Keane will be a great manager he'll will bring passion to the club. In addition Keane will get rid of the losing mentality that has haunted Sunderland Football Club for the last 4 years. It's time we move forward and get back to where we belong the top half of the premiership. It may happen this season or it may take till next season. When we get to the Premiership we want to stay their. Niall Quinn and Roy Keane will build a great foundation that Sunderland football club need.

August 27 2006 How lucky we are to live in Britain
Running water that you can drink finished buildings not being left for years unfinished and great tea. This is Britain. I went on holiday and I have come back finally realising how luck we are to live in the greatest country in the world. When you go to other countries you realise that we are very lucky in Britain with the variety and choice we have in this country. Britain truly is the best country in the world, yes I know we complain we wont be British if we didnt but I think we should be happy and stop being so negative.

August 27 2006 We cant give into Terrorists and yes we face a real threat
I recently went on holiday. Before my holiday I actually considered not going because I was worried about flying and the real and current threat of terrorism. I slept on the idea of not going for a night and then I thought why should I give into to terrorists. I know we are in a difficult situation and these terrorists will stop at nothing to kill as many innocent people as they can but we cant allow them to stop us going about our business. So I say to people lets have some faith in our great intelligence services that dont get enough credit as they deserve. They are doing a great job and they did stop those attacks on the Atlantic planes. Also the British people have to accept that more security checks are necessary and frankly if you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear. The threat we face is real and its about time some people start taking it seriously.

August 27 2006 - Quinn must wield the axe
5 games, 5 losses into the new season and alarm bells are ringing in Niall Quinns head. Quinn must now start to wield the axe and get rid of the players who are not pulling their weight. Thankful Kevin Kyle has already been given the boot. We deserve so much better we need to start getting the action on the pitch right and if Quinn needs to put new players on and drop existing players then thats what we need to do we cant go on losing matches.

August 11 2006 Nial Quinn needs more time and lets hope Phillips comes back
Nial Quinn is finding out that the Sunderland job is just as tough as he thought it would be. Everyone should keep in mind that we are only 2 games into the new season so lets give Nial Quinn more time. Two losses are obviously not a good start to the season but theirs plenty of time to improve and we will. We have to hope he can get some new signings and especially Kevin Phillips. We need someone to put the ball in the back of the net and that is Kevin Phillips. Lets hope he comes back.

August 5 2006 - Not another Princess Diana Story

I would first like to say that I like the Daily Express it's a right wing Tory newspaper mostly and I like that. The thing I do not like is that the Daily Express continually prints new Diana stories nearly every week. I don't understand why people are still going on about Diana. It strikes me as bizarre that the press has this obsession with her and just will not let the story go even though the woman has been died for 9 Years now. I don't think it does anyone any good to keep going over and over the same ground. I'm not against Diana in any way I just think the constant going on about what many others and I consider old news is just silly. Surely there are more important things going on, the state of our country, the state of the world. Please no more Diana stories no more about dodge wheels and conspiracy theories lets have some news stories which are important and not just eye catching newspaper headlines.

August 5 2006 - A Dentist in Britain - you should go to Poland if you want a Dentist

The Labour government has our country in a complete mess especially on the issue of Dentistry. Tony Blair promised (and yes he's made many of them) that everyone in Britain would have a dentist in two years and here we are 7 years later and you guessed it - another broken promise. It is a complete and total failure yet again. We have our Labour MP for Stockton South Dari Taylor telling people in Stockton to boycott their dentist this is absolutely pathetic. This Government should of tried to make better Contracts for the dentists rather than shouting them down when the dentists want to leave the chaos the government has created. And it's no good the Labour Party doing what they always do which is try and but the blame on us Tories it's their policies that are driving dentists out of the NHS and into Private Health Care. As Lester Ellman, of the British Dental Association, said the new contract may "lead to more dentists going private". This is a direct result of the new contract imposed on dentists by this government and it's this government's fault that we in Britain have no dentists. This is the reason why lots of people are going to Poland for cheaper and better dentist treatment. And quite frankly I don't blame them.

August 2 2006 - Nial Quinn is right not to settle for second best

I think Nial Quinn has done the right thing by taking the Sunderland managers job himself. I know its a difficult situation with Quinn also being the Chairman of the club too but I think we shouldnt just get anyone to be the manager. Quinn has the right strategy that being, he will get Sunderland in a good position in the championship in the coming season and then start looking for a good manager and say we are going to be going back to the premiership now take them all the way. We should not a get a secondary manager we should get the best manager possible, Quinn is right not to settle for second best. So lets hope his strategy works and lets see how the season goes starting with Coventry at the weekend.

July 23 2006 - Full out war in the Middle East maybe unavoidable

The middle east has always been a dangerous spot to say the least but the full scale war that is coming I think is unavoidable, when two sides are determined so much to destroy the other what chance can peace have? The Israelis have every rite I think to defend themselves they are getting rockets fired on their cities surely they most be allowed a response. Im not saying the Israelis can do no wrong Im just simply pointing out why they are responding the reason they are responding is that some of their soldiers have been killed and captured and their cities are be attacked by rockets. I cant see an end to this conflict in the short term. We are 12 days into this and I cant see a way out of it soon. Full scale war maybe just around the corner.

July 17 2006 - Cash for Honours tells us everything about the Blair Government

Cash for honours scandal shows Tony Blairs true colours the man who said hed be different, he said he would be whiter than white. Well after 9 Years of power all we have from this Prime Minister is a country in a mess and the sleaziest Government ever. The Police I hope will soon be starting to question Mr. Blair god knows its about time someone did. Deception is a key weapon that this Government has used against its political opponents and other enemies but now people can see what this government is all about. The lies, the backhand deals the corruption it is raw sleaze. And its about time Mr. Blair paid for the arrogance of his style of government.

July 17 2006 - Nial Quinn could be a saviour for Sunderland

No doubt that we Sunderland Fans have just suffered our worst season of all time. Now at the Stadium of light there at least seems like a moment of hope. Could Nial Quinn the new chairman turn the club round and turn us into one of the biggest football clubs in country, which everyone knows it certainly has the potential to be. We need to get the manager sorted first and ASAP. If we can get a manager in place, Martin ONeil would be my choice then we can start building a team and make some tough decisions that should have been made a while ago. We have to start to get our strategy on the pitch and in the boardroom in complete harmony with each other. If we want Sunderland to be a future Premiership giant, then give it the resources and backing that is needed. No more of this yo- yo club status in and out of the premiership we need to build a firm base and establish ourselves. I think Nial Quinn is the man to lead us back to the premiership lets just hope he can get the best manager for the job to.

June 10 We all wish England the best of luck in the World Cup and of course you can fly the St. Georges cross

Although I dont think we will the World Cup, I want to wish England the best of luck. I hope the team has been practicing penalties. Come on England lets hope we can do well. And lastly if anyone runs into any of these stupid political correct people who tell you that you cant fly the St. Georges Cross. Then be sure to tell them where to go and fly the flag with pride.

June 10 I appear on T.V. 2 times in one week

I was on Question Time on 1 June saying that John Prescott is an incompetent minister and he should go. Last Monday I was on the Daily Politics saying that I as well as other Conservative party members have worries about David Camerons A-List for selecting Parliamentary candidates. I do love being on TV. Its a hard life being a minor celebrity.

May 28 2006 Our immigration system is a shambles

Labour has finally admitted that their immigration system is in absolute chaos. The Home Secretary has admitted that their system is not fit for purpose. This just shows that no one can believe a single word that this government says. We the British people are not racist but what we all want is a system that everyone has confidence in. Of course we welcome people who come here to help contribute to Britain. We want controlled and limited immigration but with this government we have uncontrolled, unlimited and open door policy immigration. Here are the facts on this immigration shambles that Tony Blair doesnt want anyone to know;

392,000 Eastern Europeans have flocked to Britain in two years that is 40 times higher that what the Government said it would be 2004.

John Reid admitted that figures released by the Home Office are almost immediately wrong and often changed in less than 24 hours.

The number of people granted a passport has gone up. It is 4 times higher since Labour came to power.

In one year the UK has gained 161,780 compared to 37,010 in 1997.

Since Labour came to power the population has gone up a massive 872,495 people gaining citizenship since 1997.

Sir Andrew Green Chairman of think tank Migrationwatch UK says Grants of citizenship have quadrupled under the present government. This is a direct result of their no limits immigration policy. Immigration on this scale is changing the nature of our society without public consent. It is no longer acceptable.

May 28 2006 A Government not fit for purpose

The Home Secretary John Reid said the Home Office isnt fit for purpose, well I think this Government its fit for purpose. Lets just look at the record of this Government. This is a Government that has bankrupted the Pensions system, levelled the country with the biggest tax burden in Britains history, handed more powers to the European Union, allowed criminals back o 1
