HUMMER
Brought to you by Adventure Drive Arabia
Thursday 8th December 2005
Sim finally gets to experience her 29th birthday pressie from Phill. 3 hours driving the 2006 model Hummer H3 around the brand new off-road course at Bahrain International Circuit, run by Adventure Drive Arabia.

Early morning thick fog cleared (eventually) and the sun came out for a fantastic day.

The 'camel humps' give a great view of the Grand Prix track and surrounding desert.

Then it's straight on to the parallel bars. Two tyre-wide walls 50m long, and yes, Sim made it all the way across!
The horizon can look very strange from the window of a Hummer!
Gully crossing
The brand new 'Hummer steps'.  Simone was the first member of the public to drive them!
16 inch vertical steps designed to rip the bottom off anything but a Hummer.
It's a long way down!  Would you believe she drove down without using the brakes?!!
How far can a Hummer H3 lean to the left?
...and the right?
Answer: 50 degrees!!!!!!
The see-saw
Driving down steep cobbles into two feet of water, over a giant see-saw and out again.  COOL!
Hunters love Hummers! Click on this picture to see the BIG version.
Time to swap the Hummer for an SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) and feel the difference.
Rodney, the boss of Adventure Drive Arabia, was Simone's instructor for the day.  All round top bloke (and a handy driver too.)
The car-like feel made Sim smile, the 5 litre V8 made her grin! But it ain't no hummer over the rough stuff.
Decissions, decissions. Which one do we take home?....

...huh! As if you have to ask!
