| The first fort here was built in the 17th Century, during the reign of Sheikh Al-Gabrey. After the victory of Al-Khalifa at the end of the 18th Century, the current fort was built over the ruins of the first. The Al-Khalifa family still rule today! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| It's become a bit of a joke now, to get the Mustang into the picture where ever we go! When we wandered into the fort we were amazed at how quiet it was. The door was shut but not locked, so we wandered around for an hour. On the way out, at 2pm, we saw a sign that said the fort was closed until 3pm - ooops!!! Have you noticed the blue skies and short sleeves? It was December 2nd and 75 degrees - NICE! |
