Drinkwater is the first band Phil was ever in. I'm told that the first thing they ever put out was a tape of songs from Sesame Street, but they got a letter from management of whatever company puts out Sesame Street, asking them to stop putting it out, because it was that company's songs. On the Bright Side though, they got a signed letter from the muppets that apoligized for "The Management Problems." Then again that doesn't even close to make up for the fact that not many copies of that tape were produced and now i have next to NO chance to hear it! lol..BUT if by chance you have information on where i could get it, or if i could buy it from you or someone ya know (or even just a copy of it) then Please Please Please email me!
Anyways, in 1993 they put out the CD 3 Murky Vibes, which is a realllly awesome CD, in my opinion (If you want any of these Drinkwater CDs I would recommend keeping a close close close eye on Ebay..i bought mine there for $66 over a year ago..and haven't seen it there since..but ya never know). When one of the members decided to leave the band, after the first CD was put out, and they had opened for different bands, including Newsoys, they decided to go their seperate ways, instead of finding another member. The Newsboys old bass player, Kevin Mills, has just left, and the Newsboys remembered liking Phil, even though he played Guitar, not bass. Peter Furler called him up and asked him if he could play bass and he said Sure!--even though he had never played bass in his life, and a few days Later, he was on a plane to the USA trying to learn how to play bass, ready to join the Newsboys. |
