What Matters...
Quote by Chief Seattle:
You must teach your children that the ground
beneath their feet is the ashes of our grandfathers.
So that they will respect the land, tell your
children that the earth is rich with the lives of our kin.
Teach your children what we have taught our children ~
that the earth is our mother.
Whatever befalls the earth, befalls the sons of the earth.
If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon themselves.
This we know. The earth does not belong to man;
man belongs to the earth. This we know.
All things are connected like the blood which unites
one family. All things are connected.
Whatever befalls the earth, befalls the sons of the earth.
Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely
a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web,
he does to himself.

Maintain the web we call earth, mother nature finds a way, true,
but must we suffer the earth in the meantime?
If you don't care, why not?
Shooting ourselves in the foot doesn't get us far.
Think about it.

"We are forced to acknowledge that we as humans cannot control everything --
the Sun, Earth and Moon will persist in their celestial dance
regardless of what we mortals do."
says Susan Stolovy, an astronomer at the California Institute of Technology
in regards to the June 21, 2001 total solar eclipse in Africa

No more excuses...
What if you die tonight, what are people at the funeral going to say?
"He/She was a good parent." or "They always had a smoke lit up."
If you can look at your own life, is it how you wanted it to be?
Get off the computer and take your family on a picnic.
Tell them how happy you are to be with them.
No family? Volunteer yourself to social service, people need you.
Have a nice small-medium sized pet that loves people?
Take it to your local Nursing Home/ Extended Care Facility
for some attention, watch the residents light up.
Ask permission first of course.
Life is short.
Don't hold petty grudges towards siblings or parents,
you are stronger than that.
Something bothering you, learn from it and LET IT GO.
Enrich yourself and your life, take more risks (but not anything that
would harm others or yourself physically or mentally).
Respect your elders, they've endured life's wringer
longer than you have, with less push buttons.
