My Best Friend

There is a peaceful place in my heart.
It is like a cool spring meadow.
There are flowers and grasses.
The air is cool.
The place is a happy place.
There are no problems in that meadow.
It is so lovely,
and you are there.

There is another place in my heart,
one that is not happy at all.
This place is a rocky valley.
It's very hot,
and very cold.
That place is uncomfortable.
It causes headaches to be there,
but there is where I go as often as my happy place.
Although I'm scared there, I'm not alone. You are there with me.

I live in a different place, though.
The place I live isn't too easy,
nor is it too hard.
The place is simple with its struggles.
No ups or downs.
You are by my side in this place.

You are with me in the good and in the bad,
in the highs and in the lows.
We are together through thick, thin, and that middle place.
You are my best friend,
and I love you tons.
