2) Drop "D" Simply put, drop from the big string "E" to a "D". This will put you in an octave on the first and third strings. If you play a "D" chord, you will now have a deep bass note. Cool, huh?

3) Open "E" Requires a little work... I personally prefer to drop the whole tuning to a "D" note while in the Open "E" tuning... because it's less stress on the neck and (to me) it sounds better.

4) Don't know what to call it.. This tuning is easy. It is almost an open I can only EXPLAIN IT: tuning except for one note, but I had to (for the song "FREE") leave it there to make the song playable. Tune your big "E" string up to a "G" and your small "E" string down to a "D."
