Housing.
Cages - The indoor cage is by far the most common housing for lovebirds, but remeber lovebirds need big cages to be happy in! the minumun cage size depends on the number of birds you are housing in it, and their relatsionship to one another. if your unsure of the relationships between the birds you should consider communal cages where there are openings at the end of the passages. The size of a single indoor cage for a pair of lovebirds should be: 80 x 50 x 50cm and 100 x 100 x 100cm for several younger lovebirds.

when you purchase a cage look at its sturdyness, whether it will be toxic to your birds and whether it is easy to maintain and clean etc..

Indoor flights - An indoor flight is ideal for a lovebird. They come in many sizes but 1.6 x 1.6 x 1metres should do. Nestboxes are more nessecary in a flight as if its being shared with more than one pair of lovebirds, the need there privacy!! flights are good for your lovebirds as they stimulate there natural environment and the freedom to fly around!

Outdoor Flights - Lovebirds can be kept in outdoor flights as long as they are draught free and dry, should face the sun and have an insulated shelter room. floors can be constructed of concrete but people prefer to use shingle and course sand as it looks better and is easier to clean than concrete. Also make sure part of the avairy is covered by a solid roof above so the lovebirds can stay dry if they want...(probably unlikely) and it stops wild bird droppings landing in the avairy preventing bacteria and parasites!
