Feeding.
Lovebirds as everybird need a good well balanced diet.
You should supply your birds with a seed mix, commercially prepared or hand made with Ten parts canary seed, three parts brown millet, two parts sunflower seed, one part mixed grass seed, and one-half part hemp seed.
Make sure everyday before you top-up the seed dish that you blow off all the seed shells.
All seed must be accompanied my fresh fruit and vegatable, tree branches and occasional soft foods.

Sprouted seeds should be supplied as part of your lovebirds everyday diet, to make these:
Soak your seeds(preferably your normal seed mix) for 24 hours; rinse the seeds and place them in a warm place for 24-48 hours; when the seeds sprout, rinse them again and feed them to your birds.

If your seeds do not sprout in 3 days this means they are not fresh and the whole batch should be disposed of.

Vegatables to feed your birds could be: Brussel sprouts, cabbage, spinach, lettuce, parsely. Dandelion, chickweed, shepards purse and others.

Fruits you can feed your bird include: figs, soaked raisins, apples, sweet oranges, and soft pears and peaches.

Lovebirds also love Half-ripe maize, still on the cob.

Remember to feed your birds greens in moderation as an overflow of greens can cause to digestive problems.

Make sure your lovebirds have access to clean water daily, they should also be supplied with a clean bath of lukewarm water on sunny mornings, although birds will drink stall and dirty water they will not bathe in it, so be sure to change the birds water @ least once a day!
