| Day Twelve - Arriving Home |
| After a long day yesterday, Chloe did not want to get up early so i let her sleep until 7:30am, thats the type of guy i am. We packed up the bike for the last time, had a leasurily breakfast and got on the road by 8:30am. We both knew that we had only 3 hours of riding in fromt of us, so could see the light at the end of the tunnel. The roads were good and the tempetarture was nice and cool. We wanted to take advantage of this, fortunatley we were able to cruise at between 70-75 Mph, there was a little construction going on the highway, but nothing to troublesome. We only stopped for gas (petrol) along the way and then a quick bite for lunch before we got home. The girls had no idea we were getting home early and they were pleasantly suprised when we walked in the house. It was a great trip, but like anything it was great to get home. I had accomplished what i wanted to, going to Sturgis for the rally has been something i have been planning to do and wanted to do for many years. The total miles for the trip was 4059 (6494 Kms) in a total of 12 days. The bike ran like a champion, other than gas needed nothing. Chloe also was great, considering the challenges of distance and temperature she never really complained at all. We had a lot of fun and think we got to know each other a little better. If nothing else that was worth it. I hope you all enjoyed the trip as much as we did putting it together for you to follow along. Now i need to start planning next years trip to Sturgis, that will be a one week adventure. Straight up and back with 4-5 days to visit some of the less reputible places i didn't get to this time :) |
