Day Eleven - On our way home

No pictures today guys, sorry the camera person bailed up.

We knew we had a big day ahead of us if we wanted to get home tonight, from Valentine, Nebraska to Dallas was 875 miles.

We left Valentine at 6:30am, after getting in at 9:30pm the night before, it was tough getting on the road this early. Today started out nice and cool, which certainly helped, and most of these roads are open and relatively quiet of traffic, with a speed limit of 75 Mph we were able to make good time.

Our path took us from Valentine Nebraska on US 83 to North Platte, onto I-80 east to US 183 South to Hays, Kansas then East on I-70 to Salina, where we stopped for a quick lunch. We were sitting next to an elderly lady and grand daughter (my guess). The grand mother was really excited about our trip, asking lots of questions, only to find out that she was an avid biker in her younger days. She couldn't stop talking to us... it was pretty funny.
After a quick lunch and discussion we got back on the road. We were now on I-35 which will take us right into Dallas, but still 450 miles away and it was already 3:00pm.

Our original plan was to arrive in Dallas sometime early on the Tuesday evening, then get to the Airport to pick up Lena and Jasmine coming in from Singapore. I called Lena's cell phone expecting to leave her a message asking what the flight number was into Dallas. Assuming she would check it when she arrived in San Fransico and leave me a message in return, well not to be, she answered the phone. She was already home. Chloe thought this was hilarious, i was out by one day.... So they were already home, we had 450 miles to go after being on the road for a solid 9 hours.

The girls did not know where we were so we continued on our way, we planned to ride to Oklahoma City (another 248 miles) and see how we felt as far as continuing on or stopping for the night.

We arrived in Oklohama City at 7:00pm, Chloe was exhausted so we decided to stay the night. Total miles today 695 (1112 Kms). We had called home earlier (6:00pm) and the girls were all fast asleep as they had only arrived home from the Airport at 3:00am that morning. Obviously i woke up Lena, so decided it was a good idea to let them sleep and we will arrive home in the morning.
