I'm born in Austraila in 1949. My father and mother left Australia and went to Holland that same year. I grew up in Holland went to school, got married had a daughter. I got divorced in 1974. My father passed away om 2nd january 1983.In 1985 my mother and me went to Australia for a holiday. My wife Gilda and I met on September 15th in 1985 in Australia at the end of that holiday. We fell in love and got married 24 December 1985.
I'm a manager for the city of Amsterdam, responsible for a rehab program for unemployed.
In November 2000 my wife and me went to Australia for our 15th wedding anniversary. We made a trip starting in Sydney, NSW, Queensland, Northern Territory back to the south of NSW, Victoria ACT and back to Sydney.
Whilst in Sydney and other places in NSW I did research on my Sewell family and looked up relatives I had never met before.
I went to see some aunts and cousins with whom I have been writing for some years now. Also met family members I never heard of before.
All and all it was a wonderfull trip and it was even more wonderful to meet so many "new" family members.

My hobby is genealogy and at this moment I'm busy creating a Sewell family tree. My grand-mother was Blanche Geraldine Sewell and she lived in Australia. That is were my attention is, the Sewell's in Australia. So anyone living in Australia and a decendant of (James) Daniel Sewell, please conatct me. His son, Joseph Sewell, was sent to Australia in 1815 and lived in Rockley and was a grazier. From there on I have an almost complete family history, but I'm still working on it, so all information is welcome!
I have the name and date of brith etc. of many hundres of family members in my databease. So maybe we can exchange information.
Please contact me if you have any information on the Sewell family decending from Joseph Sewell or about his origins. |
