VANCELETTE
My name is Phillip Vancelette. I was born and raised in Louisville Ky and I still live just outside the city limits. My father Leonard was born in Middlebury Vt. in 1916 and raised by his parents Leslie an Luella. He had two brothers Paul and Phillip, four sisters Ceil, Bee, Mabel and Eleanor. Also from my grandfathers second mariage, a son named Carl. My uncle Phillip and half uncle Carl who I'm still in contact with are the last survivors of the immediate family. Myself I lost my brother Kim in 1981 and not long after my father Leonard passed away in 1982. My mother Helen made it long enough to spend some time with her grandson Chase before she passed away in 1990. I wish she could have made it long enough to see her wonderful granddaughter Riley Michelle. In this time I have become very close to my half sister Bonnie and half brother Dan who along with my wife, her familey and two kids have moved my life in a very positive direction. My dad was a WWII pilot in the Army Air Corps in the China-Burma-India theater and flew over the Himalaya Mountains. Their job was called "Over the Hump" The bottom line for this web site is for anyone related or also has the Vancelette name. There is not very many of us out there so I thought it would be great for us to be able to come in contact with each other.

Ways I've heard the Vancelette name pronounced by other people that are mainly calling your name like for doctors visit or a phone solicitor asking for Mr or Mrs Vancelette. After a while you just have to say close enough. Even in the mail its pops up in ways that I have to study it. I think the most common pronunciations are "Vancelettie" got to be the top "VanCleate" "VanCleave" never can figure were people see a second letter v "Van..Van..VanCel..VanCel et e Now there are times that someone may get it right and you got to kind of give them a little thank you.
