General Membership Meeting Minutes
12 March 2006
Note:
At the end of the Chaplain’s Opening Prayer, he requested we remember the
One-Year Anniversary Death of two of our former members: Daniel J. Burns (7
March 2005) and George D. Baxter (20 March 2005).
Post
Commander Raymond Jones convened the meeting at 10:05 A.M.
Roll
Call of Officers: Commander/Service Officer Jones, Judge Advocate H.J. Hardy,
Chaplain John Welsh III, Sergeant-at-Arms/Adjutant Larry Wade, and General
Manager Sean McHale were present. First Vice Commander Lafayette Donaldson,
Second Vice Commander David Butler, Finance Officer
Walt Howard, Public Relations Officer Dennis Drazkowski,
Fil-Am Officer Ernesto Sabado,
Historian Thomas Anderson, and Kitchen Manager Jerry Bristle were absent.
A
motion was passed to accept the minutes of the 12 February 2006 General
Membership Meeting subject to corrections.
Introduction
of Guests and Prospective New Members: There were no guests present.
Prospective New Member Vicente L. Pereyra was
introduced.
Finance
Report: Adjutant Wade read the American Legion Post 123 Financial Report for
February 2006. A motion was made and seconded to accept the Financial Report
subject to audit. No discussion. The motion was voted upon and the Financial
Report was approved subject to audit.
Membership
Report: Commander Jones reported that we have 222 paid-up members: 131 Post Life
Members, 73 Annual Members, and 18 Paid-up-for-Life Members. This is 94% of
Legion Year total of 234.
Balloting
on Applications: Vicente L. Pereyra and Delfin M. Santos were balloted. A motion was made and
seconded to accept them into the Post. No discussion. The motion was voted upon
and approved.
Sick
Call, Relief and Employment: Legionnaire John Tatum’s recovery continues to go
well at home. Legionnaire Howard “Dick” Lannon’s knee
operation went well. He is at home using crutches and/or a cane. Post Public
Relations Officer Dennis Drazkowski is still
receiving Physical Therapy three times a week at Philippine International
Hospital (PIH). He is walking more with a cane and using his wheelchair less.
Legionnaire Don Scott has been in and out of ICU at Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Hospital. He is currently at home.
Post
Service Officer’s Report: Veteran Michael Ray Hilbert passed away Friday
afternoon February 17, 2006 from a massive heart attack. He lay in state at Indiongco Funeral Home from February 18-22. On February 20,
