| Records during the early years of the
Rebels Fantasy Football League are sketchy. No one thought on that
early evening in August 1991 at Han's Gasthouse that we would still be here
so many years later.

| Fantasy Bowl champions team Shadow
coached by Phil Kraker defeated The Axial Headloads coached by fantasy football
stalwart Norman Kraker . Shadow was propelled to the first RFFL Fantasy
Football League championship by his workhorse running back Neil Anderson
drafted number 2 overall.
Who was the first player ever drafted in the RFFL? Need a clue take a close look at our Official RFFL Logo at the top of the page. Warren Moon of the Houston Oilers was the first player ever drafted by an RFFL Owner. Who was that owner? Why no other than Nick Tempke and Christine Spasnick, the two co-owners of team "No Chance". As it turned out No Chance really did have no chance as 1991 was there first and only season as an RFFL Franchise. Although after a 14 year break, owner Christine Spasnick, now Christine Schukat, returned in 2005 to the RFFL to partner with 14 year veteran Larry Becker and his Eight Balls. Did you know the RFFL was a very different league than it is today. First we used a snake draft up until the 1997 season which saw the RFFL split into two leagues, the National Fantasy Football League was a bidding league option for RFFL owners. Fortunately Dennis Fritsche brought continuity to the league by winning both titles. The four playoff teams in 1991 were the Axial Headloads who defeated the legendary coach Ray Tang who's Samurais. The 69er's were overmatched by the Shadow's formidable running attack. The Shadow went on to win the first Fantasy Bowl over the Axial Headloads, in a two week battle of attrition.
