The Preamble to the Constitution

of Phi Theta Sigma

 

Be it known that Phi Theta Sigma, Honorary Fraternity for Collegiate Musicians, exists primarily for the benefit of the College or University Bands, Choirs, and Orchestra in hopes that the following several commitments will be beneficial to All Students and Faculty in the College or University's School of Music:

1) To Pursue and Endorse the Social Atmosphere and to Improve the relations between All members of the Collegiate Ensembles.

2) To Serve the Band, Choir, and Orchestra in any way, Physical and Monetary, that the Directors of the Ensembles requires or requests.

3) To Promote the Existence and Welfare of Music and all of it's disciplines and Followers through our Endless Dedication and Tireless Efforts.

4) To Sustain a Pleasant and Workable atmosphere within the College of Music and it's attainment through the performance of rewarding music and beneficial philanthropies.

5) To Cooperate and Collaborate with other Music Organizations in order to strengthen ties between ensembles at the same and at other Universities and Colleges.
