Live music for young children returns to brownstone Brooklyn when Concerts For Kids presents “Suzi Shelton Live In Concert” at SouthPaw. Specifically designed for the playground set, the show will feature songs off Suzi's newly released solo recording, “Simply Suzi” in an intimate, fun-filled atmosphere for youngster ages 2 1/2 to 7.
Suzi Shelton has been a standout among the current crop of kid-friendly musical performers since her days as an original member of the groundbreaking New York ensemble, The Imagination Workshop Band. With her angelic voice and no-sugar-added lyrics, Suzi generated a huge following of young fans eager to ride her make-believe subway train or march along with her famous Dragon Hunt.
In 2001, Suzi joined Brooklyn-based children's band, Gillygaloo and continued to perform for family audiences throughout the NYC area. With her newly released solo recording, "Simply Suzi," Suzi uses her lilting voice to encourage young audience to transform themselves into a musical menagerie of delightful creatures like sleeping lions, snapping turtles, slithering snakes and juicy jellyfish.
