Class Tutorial : In this tutorial I will explain the differences in picture images formatting. These formats include gif, jpeg, and other formats such as photo shop and others fun programs such as those. As I have mention before on the main page, this is for a class Im taking through Evergreen Internet Academy called Introduction to Web page design. There will be different categories or tutorials under this subcategory so look for more to come, and I hope you learn something from it, and if you find anything confusing please tell me so that I can make it to where you can understand. I know how this can be confusing. Thank you.
Now for the tutorial.
gif: gif stands for Graphic Interchange Format. This is what minimizes your picture to fit the formatting in the program you are trying to use. The only thing is, it is limited to 256 colors per image. It is the lowest image size that would be perfect for this format, and by using this format you can make parts of your image transparent. Also in this format you can use animation graphics as well, though it will be more like an easy film as apposed to a more complicated graphic.
jpeg: jpeg stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group. In this format you are able to make images smaller with out down grading the image quality. So you can still see it clearly. This format is for the images with a bigger color range than that of the gif formatting images. The down side to this formatting though is that is does not support animation graphics, or transparency.
Other: Other formats can come in your photo shops, but depend on the tyoe of computer and the program you are using. The most common on is the bitmap (bmp). This format will allow you to see the image perfectly but will be too big to use on a web site. You should do more research on a format before using it on your website.
