ALL ABOUT AUTO TECH 2000 AT
PHELPS CAREER SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

The Auto Tech 2000 Program at Phelps Career Senior High School is designed to provide the student with the automotive service and repair technology to perform factory approved test, disassembly, inspection and reassembly of automotive systems. Through step-by-step instruction, the students increase their knowledge and skills of automotive service and repair techniques. Shop safety, proper hand/power tools use, and testing devices are stressed.

Through the use of work sheets, troubleshooting charts, parts catalogs, and service manuals, the student will become familiar with automotive service and repair procedures.

The program follows the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) requirements for secondary schools.  The University of Missouri’s Instructional Materials Laboratory automotive curriculum is used,

The program includes an automotive related intensified math, science, and language arts academic program. The academic skills are integrated into the class curriculum through the coordination with academic teachers and the use of worksheets, assignments, and projects.
