CHARLOTTE'S DAY AT THE FRIENDS TAPING
DECEMBER 8TH 2000
TOW THEYRE UP ALL NIGHT.

I had not been able to get regular tickets to see Friends being taped, however the Monday before I was in Los Angeles I managed to get tickets for the second seating of that Fridays show. This meant that I was going to be filling in the seats of guests who had already left before the taping was over. My mother, myself and my friend arrived at the audience gate at 3:30pm but were told they would not let us in until 4:30, so we went for a walk. At 4:30pm we came back, and made our way to the audience holding area. We were numbers 1, 2 and 3 for the second seating. After a while more and more people for the second seating arrived, and we were all starting to get cold as it was getting dark. We had eaten a large lunch because we thought we wouldnt get out till late and so wouldnt be able to eat, but then the lovely people at Warner Bros. brought out pizza, water bottles and even heaters! At 8:30pm I finally got to go in, and was led all the way around the studios into the Friends set. We were told not to take cell phones, cameras etc into the studio and then we went through and led to our seats. The warm up guy gave us a brief run of the story so far and then filming began. I was seated on the left of the audience but couldnt see much because all the filming was being done on non-permanent sets on the right, but I could see what they were doing on the TV screens above our seats. I only saw an hour and a half of filming, but it was worth it. The only cast members left when we got in were Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and guest Eddie Cahill. After she finished her scenes Jennifer waved at us as she went backstage, and Matt and David were talking at the end of the show on the side of the set so we saw them as we left the audience seating area. It was a really good show, even though I wasnt there long it was definitely worth the long queuing!
