One of three in the Eeared family where both sexes resemble each other. A few differences such as spurs, size of the skull cap and overall size of the legs tell them apart. Most amateurs cannot tell, and this is described in "Sexing Eared Pheasants" I believe this to be the more difficult of the three to raise or hatch due to much infetility. They do not seem to dig as much as the Brown or Blue Eared and are much more timid except during breeding season at which time the male is a hellion.. Incubation 27-28 days |
