The Crested Screamers have a stout body about 30 inches long, a short neck, a small head, long legs, and a short fowl-like bill.  At the bend of each wing, there is a sharp spur with which the bird can deliver a severe blow.  The Crested Screamer is known for its harsh loud call. They are classified in the order Anseriformes, and the family Anhimidae.
