February 2000-- Sam is starting to understand lots of words now, even though she can't say them all yet. She can point to her eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, ears, head, belly, and feet. She can point them out on others, too, but that usually consists of trying to pluck your eyeballs free from your skull. She's all pleasantries!! She is a big tantrum thower--Mike & I are dumbfounded as to where she gets her temper from :) We have chosen to ignore her tantrums & let her get mad--she doesn't get a reaction from us, and her tantrums are slowly diminishing. She belongs to a wonderful playgroup, consisting of 5 other moms & babies I got together. Her friends are Madeline, Curtis, Elaina, Jack, and one new baby who we will be meeting next week. Sam is far from learning how to share, but we have lots of fun at our playgroup. It's too cold to go to the playground now, so we find things to play indoors a lot. Ring around the rosy, chase the baby (or mom or daddy), throwing the ball, and of course, reading. She is an awesome little girl, and we just can't get over how big she's grown in the past year! |
