Pagan Prayers I think most (not all) Wiccans will agree that prayer and meditation are important parts of everyday life. With that in mind, I've decided to add a few prayers that I say often. Most of these are, in one way or another, derived from Christian prayers. My use of the formats is not intended to be rebelious or as an affront. It is simply because I was raised Christian and am familiar with the prayers. And most of them can be easily converted to polytheistic prayers. Oh, and some Witches say "Blessed be," some say "So mote it be." They both mean the same thing as "Amen," (more or less).
Our Father, who is the Heavens. Our Mother, who is the Earth, Blessed be thy names. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done On Earth as it is within. Show us this day Your eternal gifts. And forgive us when we forget to thank You, As we forgive those that forget to thank us. And lead us into balance, And deliver us into peace. For Thine is the Earth, the Air, the Fire, and the Water In this life and in the next. Blessed be.

If I thought there was a Hell, I know I'd be going to it. Hehehe. Now this is the kind of prayer in the classroom I could handle.
To ensure the return of a book By hill and wind, By flame and book. I place a bind upon this book. That it returns to me.
Fur and feather, Scale and Skin Different without, but the same within. Blood of many, but one of soul. Through all creatures are the Gods made whole.
Morning Prayer to the Elements Air to inspire, Fire to bring desire, Water as my healer Earth as my church. I call upon you To bless this day anew. Blessed Be.
Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Goddess my soul to keep. If happy thoughts someone should take, I pray that from bad dreams I soon shall wake.
My bones are the Earth, The Earth is my bones. My breath is Air. The Air is my breath. My thoughts are Fire. The Fire is my thoughts. My emotions are Water. The Water is my emotions.
Goddess Chant Isis, Astarte, Diana, Hecetate, Demeter, Kali, Inana
Hail, Goddess, full of grace The Gods are with Thee Blessed art thou and Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, the earth. Holy Goddess, mother of all Think of your children now and in the time of our need.
OK-most of these prayers mention just the Goddess or the God and the Goddess. I don't have any with just the God for one very good reson. (This is how I explained it to a friend of mine.) I was raise Christian, so I feel vvery comfortable with the identity of God, so I don;t need to pray to understand Him better. Plus, many of the problems in my life that I would pray for guidance on are more "female" problems: stress, worry, love, nourturing problems. You would go to your mom with these problems before you would go to your dad, so that's who I pray to most of the time. This doesn't mean I ignore the God in my spells or prayers, I just don't need His advice as much.
