AGE GRACEFULLY

Enjoy reading this web page on 'aging', written by W. Diane Van Zwol R.N., B.A., M.A. Certified Counsellor and Web Designer. This is written 'tongue in cheek', so to speak, with the understanding that we can all choose how to age, 'gracefully' or 'less gracefully'.

The Third Thing,

I recently spoke with a 'young' man, (who is in his eighties), on the telephone and he said,

"There are 'three things' that happen to you as you get older. The first thing is, 'you lose your memory'..." Then he said with a chuckle, "I forget what 'the other two things' are."

I laughed with him.

Later, when I related this 'joke' to my older brother, he laughed and said to me,

"I know what 'the second thing' is."

"Oh," I replied. "The male 'thing'." He knew that I understood.

We never did figure out what 'the third thing' really was.

Maybe you can help us to figure that out, or maybe not?

Do you think you are 'the one time exception'?

Perhaps you are the one person who is 'exempt' from all of the following as you age...

You might like to add your own 'symptons' to this list!

Now we all know what was wrong with our parents.....and maybe our grandparents too!

But, guess what! You may be just getting old. It happens to us all!

If you have one or more of these symptoms, and you are seriously concerned about them, you might just want to see your doctor...just in case.

By the way, if you have 'all' of these symptoms, you might be 'in big trouble' or just simply 'neurotic'.

One other thing that you might suddenly realize is that, even your children and grandchildren might demonstrate some of these wierd and wonderful symptoms.

What is really important though with respect to 'the third thing' is that we all have patience with one another and 'age gracefully'.
