小笨霖英語筆記本八

　

學校在 Nov 24 出了一份報紙, 看來有模有樣, 可是裏面全是笑話, 名字是 The Hell With Georgia, 趕快去拿吧!

A. 以下的句子似乎有點 Chinese English, 要如何修改呢? (參考答案在最後)

1. It is possible for me to buy a car this year.
2. Is there a seat available tonight?
3. The box is large in size.
4. I put my hand into my pocket for my ticket.
5. I bought a computer which can help me with my work.
6. The book is not available till now.
7. Let me see your exam sheet.
8. They handed out free gift in SAC.
9. They are like very much.
0. We can join them together.
A. My hair is not true.

　

B. 本期筆記:

1. I like public driving.
我喜歡開車到處去玩.

這句跟 I like driving 是不同的, driving 單指開車, public driving 是則開車到處去玩

2. My brain doesn't work.
我搞不清楚.
　
搞不清楚老師說什麼時就可以用這一句.
3. It could be worse.
事情可能更糟的!
　
當遇到不如意的事情時, 你可以說這一句來安慰自己.
4. She is hottie.
她很風騷.
　
這句是壞的形容詞, 不是好的, 沒事千萬不要跟女生說, 不然可能會換來一巴掌. 通常是用在二個男生在背後討論一個女生時會用到.
5. Let's grab something to eat!
我們隨便找點東西裏腹吧!
　
可能就是到速食店買個 whopper, coke 吃吃.
6. Don't bitch around.
不要潑婦罵街.
　
這句也不要隨便亂用. 不過如果有機會跟美國的女人吵架的話, 又吵不過人家, 就把這句搬出來用吧!
7. What is your date of birth?
你的生日是?
　
不管是做什麼, 人家都會問你的生日, 所以這一句話最好牢牢記住, 另外, 去辦事時, 人家也常會問:your ID? 或是 your picture ID please, picture ID 就是有照片的証件, 一般是用駕照, 如果沒有駕照, 可能就要用護照.
8. He is a nerd.
他是一個書呆子.
　
就是整天唸書, 什麼都不作的傢伙, 可能還戴著一副深度近視眼鏡, 沒錯, 這種人就是 nerd.
9. Doing what?
做什麼?
　
這句是相當道地的口語, 常聽老美說, 當你聽到Do you..? 而沒聽清楚時, 可以這樣說, 附帶一提, 我很少聽到老美說 pardon? 除非是整句都聽不清楚才說這句, 說 Doning what? 可能就是那一個動詞沒聽清楚而已.
10. That's no-brainer.
不用大腦,
　
用來形容很簡單很簡單的事, 如考試. 如果程度不是那麼嚴重, 你可以說, There is no brain hard work.
11. You have to face the music.
你必須面對現實.
　
為什麼 music 代表困難的事, 我就不知道了 :)  My brain doesn't work!
12.Yet one thing is for sure, though.
別的我不知道，不過有件事我很確定.

老美 though 這個字用的很多, 但是百分之九十是放句尾, 不知大家有沒有注意到, 它相當於 but.. 或是 however..

13.Good game, man.
大哥, 打的不錯!

當你離開球場時, 不要忘了跟你的球友說一聲, 彼此鼓勵一下.

　

C. 參考解答

A: I probably will buy a car this year.
　
2. Is there a seat available tonight?
A: Is a seat available tonight?
　
3. The box is large in size.
A: The box is large. (不用說 in size, 多餘的)
　
4. I put my hand into my pocket for my ticket
A: I reach my hand into my pocket for my ticket.
　
5. I bought a computer which can help me with my work.
A: I bought a computer to do my work
　
6. The book is not available till now.
A: The book is not currently available.
　
7. Let me see your exam sheet.
A: Let me see your test. (test 就代表考卷)
　
8. They handed out free gift in SAC.
A: They handed out gift in SAC. (gift 一定是free, 但是老美也常犯這個錯 :D )
　
9. They are like very much.
A: They are very similar.
　
10. We can join them together.
A: We can join them. (together 多餘)
　
11.. My hair is not true.
A: My hair is unreal. (true 是邏輯上的對錯, real 是真假)
