| Mister Mann Frisby has been involved in Philadelphia�s track & field community since the age of eight-years-old. He competed in age-group track & field from childhood throughout his high school years before turning his focus to coaching. The dedicated coach is a graduate of Overbrook High School where he ran on two city championship teams earning first-team All-Public status. |
The 30-year-old South Philadelphia native founded PhatBack Athletics Inc. after a seven year coaching stint with the Oak Lane Youth Association. During his coaching career, he has managed to lead more than three dozen athletes to the Junior Olympics.
One of the many highlights of his career include an AAU National record in the 4x400 meter relay (4:24.5) for 9&10 year-old boys in 1996. He worked for more than three years as a news reporter at the Philadelphia Daily News before resigning to pursue a career as a novelist and to give more attention to his true passion ---coaching. His first book, �Blinking Red Light�, debuted in May of 2002 to rave reviews. Frisby, a graduate of Penn State University, has developed a program where academics are given as much emphasis as athletics. | |
