| Well, well, well. A werewolf, eh? Whats wrong , not satisfied with the scraps we leave behind? I assure you foolish one, attacking us is the last mistake youll ever make. He indicated his fellow vampires in the tavern. We are many, you are but one. Plus, theres more outside. The group began trying to overwhelm Stytentos, growling in sinister eagerness as they approached He stood his ground as they closed in, suddenly throwing another punch at the leader. He sidestepped it, grabbing Stytentos and lifting him over his head. Angrily, he tossed the man over the bar where he landed with a loud crash. How do you like it, werewolf? the leader asked. Silence was his only answer. The group broke into fits of hysterical laughter as the leader returned his attention to the group of humans cowering in the corner. He smiled , revealing his fangs. He stepped toward them, asking, Now, where were we? A low, snarling growl full of power and anger seemed to shake the tavern to its very foundation. The leader stopped, turning to gaze at the bar. It went quiet again suddenly. Nodding to one of his cronies, he commanded, Check it out. One of his subordinates stepped forward apprehensively, stopping just short of the bar and peered over slightly. Not being able to see anything of significance, the vampire took one step forward. In the next instant, he was hurtling through the air. Slamming hard into the wall near the entrance, the creature slid down. His face had been completely obliterated by an upper-cut of tremendous power. The pack of undead were stunned as they gazed at their injured comrade. Turning , the group whirled just in time to see the enormous beast leap on to the bar, roaring in fury. The once elegant tunic and breeches had been reduced to torn rags. They hung loose off the creatures body, the breeches split up the thighs. The wood of the bar cracked under the werewolfs tremendous weight. The lips pulled back, revealing its sharp fangs as it snarled at the vampire group with hatred. Fearing for their existence, the group backed away slowly, then made for the taverns door. The creature was on them in an instant, leaping from the bar in a mighty display of supernatural agility. The wolf ripped through the group as if they were nothing while the astonished crowd of humans looked on. The door splintered as the leader of the underlings exploded through, the wolf in hot pursuit. Stytentos lunged at his scrambling prey, his large claws slashing through the flowing black robes. Clutching his side, the corpse fell as he shrieked in pain. Grabbing the leader by the head, the werewolf spun him around to face him. Lifting him toward his muzzle, Stytentos told him telepathically, You tell your master that death is coming . For all of you. Thats the only reason Im letting a pathetic piece of dung like you exist. Tossing the vampire to the ground, the wolf watched as the corpse struggled to its feet. The vampire grinned slyly. Werewolves werent the only ones who could use telepathy. Sending out a thought to others of his kind, the vampire called for reinforcements to come to his aid. He was certain they could get to him before the man-wolf attacked. He smiled, Youll never get out of the village alive. Angrily, the wolf ripped its heart out. The vamp slumped to the ground lifeless, a gaping bloody hole in its chest. Never mind, Ill tell him myself. In seconds, he found himself surrounded by a circling mob of the undead, all hissing, all growling, all wanting him dead. He snarled, swiping at them in an effort to keep them at bay. It worked for a few seconds, then they all rushed in at once, swarming him. Well, Stytentos told himself, this was foolish. I knew this wasnt a good idea. A whistling sound filled the air followed by the sound of something soft, yet solid being struck. Followed by a hellish shriek. |
