All my dread work so far has been done with 50-60 Elysee Star double-ended dreads. these dreads are manufactured rather than hand-made and come only in one very long length. (I am learning to make my own dreads but i've haven't mastered it yet). The process of attaching these dreads to the scalp takes about four hours and involves the dreading of the dreads into the clients own hair. the dreads are then secured with elastics, which may have to be replaced depending on the the amount of time the client wishes to keep the dreads in. If maintained correctly dreads can last upto three months (record being six months but i dont recommend it). as your own hair grows the dreads may seem to "slip" a little a roots, so i advice having them rebraided after two months. These dreads are very heavy, especially when wet and i wouldn't recommend them to someone with a sensative scalp.
