WhenMay 19, 2001
Meeting someone online is fascinating, fun, and a little scary. But most of all, it's stressful, especially when you fall in love. That was the problem with Tim and me, as you can read in the following paragraphs.

Both of us were chatting on Yahoo, and somehow, we happened to be in the same room. Just before he got offline, I saw his name - Ashirburnipal - and asked him what it meant. He told me to e-mail him, so I - Phantomrain100 - did. We e-mailed each other over Christmas break, and afterwards we also started calling each other. We were both interested, and he wanted to meet me, so in March of 1999 he rode Amtrak nearly 24 hours from Ohio to see me in Missouri. It was the best weekend of our lives, and it basically sealed the deal! We've visited each other many times, but were never together for more than a couple weeks at a time.

He went with some of he family to Germany during the summer of 1999, but before he left he basically asked me to marry him. He had bought a ring to serve sort of as a promise ring, so when he returned and came to visit me, he proposed down by the river. It was very romantic, even though I knew what was coming. In January of 2001 I moved to Pennsylvania to be closer to him for the remainder of our engagement period. It was tough at first, adjusting to being together all the time, but soon it became second nature to us.

On May 19, 2001, Tim and I were married. It was a beautiful day, stuck in between gray rainy days, and everything went great. It was very stressful, let me tell you, but most people had no idea that things didn't go exactly as planned. I was very happy with how things went, and so was everyone else I talked to.

Right after Tim and I were married, we returned to our shithole apartment in Western Pennsylvania. The centipedes and other bugs finally drove us out, and now we have a nicer apartment, which we are now outgrowing (it's only two rooms). Tim is now a teacher and looking for a position locally. I'm still trying to get him to move to Missouri, but so far we're still stuck here in PA.
