The 216 Web-Safe Colours (Hexadecimal Notation Only) Yeah, I know ... the Web-safe palette is becoming increasingly irrelevant as more people are using computers with True Colour 24- or 32-bit colour display. I originally did these charts as an exercise in learning to code HTML tables (and using the powerful match and substitution capabilities of the UNIX vi editor to dramatically cut down some of the repetitious work). Nevertheless, they can still help you to some extent to home in when you're trying to mix a colour that you see in your mind -- and, besides, it's eye candy. :-)
I'm not going to present a tutorial here on the RGB (red-green-blue) and HSB (hue-saturation-brightness) models of describing colour produced on a computer monitor. There's information available out on the Web, and anyone interested in the technicalities of this sort of stuff is probably already acquainted with the RGB and HSB models.
I've notated the hue of every colour here using the 360-degree circular model. Using that model, red -- in all its variations of brightness and saturation -- is located at 0 degrees on the circle. Similarly, the other two additive primaries -- green and blue -- are located at 120 and 240 degrees, respectively, while the intermediate secondaries -- yellow, cyan and magenta -- are located at 60, 180 and 300 degrees, respectively. The remaining colours are sorted into columns by common hue. Achromatics (black-grey-white) are of indeterminate hue, and are located separately.

It's pure HTML -- there aren't any accompanying graphics with it.)

Colours are labelled in RGB hexadecimal notation (rrggbb), where 00=0 : 33=51 : 66=102 : 99=153 : CC=204 : FF=255
Hues are labelled in circular degrees in parentheses, where 0°=red : 120°=green : 240°=blue : 360°=red (again), etc.
