Chapter Two
The two men's smiles faded making Amy's heart leap. Quickly she tried to think of what had she said to displease them, however nothing came to her, she had done everything to plan. Still, she knew that something terrible was about to happen as she felt Kiki's grip tighten around her arm in fear. "The Daily Times?" Ted questioned her. Was it surprise the girls heard in the man's voice? They could only imagine. "Uh, yes, the Daily Times." She repeated, her voice cracking a touch despite her best efforts to stay as professional as possible. "Miss, we were told we were going to be interviewed by the Times." Micheal Crawford said politely with a hint of accent.

"Are you sure? I was told that I was to interview you." Amy said barely believing her own words anymore. It had all been a dream, a dream to good to be true. They got to see them sing, why should they deserve anymore? "Quite sure miss, maybe you should check the interview schedule once more, I apologize for any mix up." Ted said, trying not to hurt the young women's feelings. Amy's heart fell as her friend moan. It had all been too good to be true. Had she really expected more? They had gotten to hear them sing, why should they think they were privilaged enough to speak with them, the two they worshiped most.
"Oh no Amy, what are we going to do?" Kiki friend whispered to her with tears in her eyes. "I don't know Kiki," She admitted and looked at her friend. "We are terribly sorry for bothering you gentlemen, we will show ourselves out." She managed to choke out and then took the already crying Kiki by the shoulders to lead her out of the room. "Wait..." The girls heard Ted call after them. "I'm sure we have enough time for a quick interview," he said with a half smile at Amy.
The man dressed in all black was unseen by all, a shadow against the wall that no one cared for. He had seen the performance done by Ted Keegan and Micheal Crawford only to laugh bitterly to himself. Tonight they would be singing a different song, he was sure. Nevertheless there had been something else he was more interested in for a better part of the evening. Two stunning young women, that shone out like bright paint on a drab mural with all the debutants and the rich they were socializing with. At first he had not noticed them, rather watched looking to see if anyone he knew personally was attending tonights preformance. Then he searched for his employer, knowing that he was to be there to give him the signal. Smirking cynnically once more he thought of how once this was all over how young women everywhere would fawn over him like they did the two imfamous singers. That was when he saw the two women make their glorious appearance. Like those two, he thought dreamily, they will shower me with their devotion instead of the old man who can barely walk and the second rate wannabe. People would know him as the one and only phantom. He then watched as the two beautiful young women he had his eye on all night proceed into a room and close the door. Too bad I'm on assignment, he thought smirking. Or else I would take time out of my laborious schedule to seduce them with my charisma and charm. Sighing he tediously checked his watch once more waiting for the most appropriate time to strike. Smiling he walked towards is destination. Oh well, I may not get pleasure out of the arms of a woman tonight, but it doesn't mean that I won't enjoy myself, He thought as he pulled the fire alarm.

"So there I was with Julia and the pole broke! It just bloody broke in the middle of the song!" Ted recounted to the laughing young women. "And here I was, trying to hide the obviously small piece of wood, and still look as if I was rowing us over..." He said chuckling to himself. Just at that moment a loud snort erupted in the room and silence filled the air. Everyone looked over to Kiki with surprise as she blushed the shade of Amy's dress.
Before she could apologize Micheal and Ted began laughing in unison, making the girls feel easy once more. "Oh that was priceless!" Ted said wiping a tear from his eye. "I'm quite embarrassed by my laugh." Kiki said meekly. "I think it's wonderful." Micheal said to her smiling. She would have blushed again if a new sound didn't pierce the air with gusto. It rang loud and true so that everyone knew what it was. "Fire," Amy whispered timidly as the two men glanced at each other in confusion.
