Angel - Chapter fourteen Chapter 14

As they approached the theater, Christine told them to follow her. The three of them walked into the dark alley. Josh wasn't there anymore, and Christine felt sick at the thoughts that started to race through her mind. She prayed silently that her Erik was still alone, and that he was okay.

Christine opened the door, and motioned to the uneasy looking Giry women to come down the stairs. They followed her into the dark cellar, and she led the way to the hidden doorway. She pushed the fabric aside, and started to turn the doorknob.

"Oh my God, Christine! Who put this here?!" Meg said fascinated.

"Erik did, I guess. I don't know. We have to go now. Follow me."

"Christine, where on earth are you taking us?" Mrs.Giry asked Christine looking at her nervously.

"Please, I'll explain everything later. We have to help him!" Christine was beginning to get frantic. Why wouldn't they just stop asking her pointless questions and follow her?!

"Okay, calm down. Show us where Erik is." Christine took them through the passages, and saw Meg's mother hush her daughter once or twice. Finally Christine made it to the small room again. Christine looked to the corner and breathed loudly when she saw he's cloaked body slumped against the wall. She ran over to it.

"Erik, oh Erik! I was so afraid that Josh might've came back and done something again! Megan's mom is here and-" She stopped, as she realized she wasn't looking into the face of Erik, but to Josh. He stood, and Christine backed away, pulling her hand to her mouth. She couldn't speak.

"Christine, Christine. I love you. You're so pretty. When I saw you with that monster, I wanted to kill him then and there." Christine looked at him horrified. The Girys' gawked at them, not believing what they were hearing.

"Josh, I swear to God if you did anything to him-" Mrs.Giry stopped Christine, who was about to lunge her small body at Josh.

"Mr.Parkington, what in God's name are you doing?! What has he been up to Christine?" The short woman looked at Christine, who looked at Meg. Meg looked so frightened. Her eyes were wide with shock Josh wanting to kill someone was not what she thought of this perfect young actor. No one else knew this violent side of Josh. Except from Christine, and Erik, who had unfortunately suffered badly from it. "He's gone insane" Christine thought to herself. "He's totally lost it".

"You leave. I need to talk with my Christine here." He gave her that charming smile, the one that would make any other girl's heart melt.

"I am not leaving Christine here with you." Meg's mother said boldly.

"Oh yes, you are." Josh said, as he reached into his pocket. The three females gasped, as the saw him pull a handgun out. He pointed to the hallway with it. "Leave. Now. Or you will be very unhappy you stayed. And don't even think of calling the police." The Girys' looked at Christine, uncertain and scared.

"Go. I'll try and talk to him. Get help." She whispered, barely loud enough for even herself to hear. They heard her, and nodded. As they fled the room, Christine heard Meg starting to cry. Christine was finding it very difficult herself to stop from bursting into tears. She turned to Josh.

"Josh. Where is Erik. Tell me now! She said, trying to sound firm although she was shaking inside.

"No Christine. Not unless you say you'll be with me."

"Now you're just being childish! Where is he? Josh, please tell me you didn't hurt him anymore."

"What if I did?"

"Then I'd really have to hate you."
