Scene of Purity
It was a candlelit scene
Fragrance lovely and clean
She weeps upon my shoulder
She weeps beneath me
Claiming wrongs and punishment due
To her, the lover of souls
How she could so view
Who she is and what she does
I will never ever know
She is the salvation of mankind
People cling to her heart and mind
Grasping desperately for hope
She will give them peace
By giving them strength
And yet still she finds
That she is not enough
She does not love herself
But I love her
She who holds my world
Together with her compassion
Mankind long ago lost its appeal
To me, but she, has instilled in me
A greater acceptance, a wider view
She is the light in the dark
Who is dark herself
Yet this does not devour her
She remains a beacon of hope
In this blackened world
She brings the white frosts of snow
Purity in their glow
It was a candlelit scene
That I felt I was not meant to see
Yet there she was beneath me
And my heart extended toward thee
