Uncle Chuckie and God

 

Charles Cosimano has been accused of being a Satanist.  This is not exactly true even though one of his pet phrases for being astonished is “Great Satan!”  Actually, if anything, Cosimano is a Gnostic.  He believes that the Universe was created by a “demented angel” and the key to “enlightenment” is to break all the rules of that angel.

 

Aside from that, his attitude towars religion, any religion, is one of studied, total contempt, not only for the belief but for the believers whom he views as being less than human.  In his world such people are fit only for extermination and he would be more than happy to be the Orkin Man. 

 

You have to understand that Cosimano views all deities as human creations, giant thoughtforms, and one does not worship a thoughtform, one puts it to use much in the same way one uses a tool.  The notion that a deity thus created can have any right to claim obedience from humankind is absurd to him.  For that reason it is impossible to use any religiously-based argument with either him or his followers.  Their reaction is to laugh and say, “So what?”  The notion that a person should refrain from an action because of a religious belief is nonsense to them.

 

And it goes farther.  Religious belief is viewed by the Cosimanoists as a weakness to be cast out.  It is something that gets in the way of having fun and nothing that gets in the way of having fun is to be tolerated.
