Today I'm gonna show you how to make your very own Cat5 patch cable, and best of all, you don't even need to spend $75(cdn) on a crimper from your Tech Store wich charges prices equivalent to Highway Robbery! I'm not very good at doing things other then smashing stuff with swords, so we're gonna use a sword to make our cable...You think that's funny? You think your some kinda smartass coming in here making fun of my l337 sword skillz?! STFU!
Ok, so first we gotta get ready. We're gonna need some things.
First thing we're gonna need is a sword. I'm so manly I've got hair on my freeking EYEBALLS, so I'm gonna use a bigger sword. Sissy girly men could also use the cutters on their fancy crimpers, a razor sharp knife, or some kinda third cutting device.
Next we're gonna need some other stuff like some pliers, files, mabey a vice grip, mabey a Screwdriver, RJ45 ends, and some RJ45 cable. I dunno...
I'm gonna say we'll need some Bondo too, not really for the cabeling I just like the smell.
So now you're good to go, Let's pwn this bish!
So Mark off about half an inch on the end of your cable, we're gonna cut that in a sec.
Ok, so cut off the shield around your cables. Don't cut the shield on the cables inside though, that would make you a dumbass.
Next, untwist the inner cables, and line them like this. Orange Stripe, Orange, Green Stripe, Blue, Blue Stripe, Green, Brown Stripe, Brown.
Now cut those things so they're of even length.
Slide the cables into the end of the connector, make sure they're in the proper order, and are in ALL THE FREEKIN' WAY!
Now using the hilt of your sword, Crimp the SH!T outta that sucker~! Making sure all the ends piece the cables, and the thingy at the back secures the cable tightly in place.
Good Job n00b, you've just maed sum patch cable for the cost of a stolen cable, and some ends. Damnit I'm awesome!
