REVIEWS

Return of the Living Dead was released in 1984 and to this day is my 2nd favorite zombie flick of all time (#1 is Dawn of course). The first time i saw this movie was a year or 2 after it came out. My older sister used to rent it all the time when she would babysit me and we would always watch it. I remember always peeking through my fingers everytime Linnea Quigley did her nude dance on the tombstone. Gotta love Linnea. The movie starts off at a Medical Supply Building where young Freddy has just gotten a job and fellow employee Frank is showing him around the place. Frank tells Freddy that the movie Night of the Living Dead was based on a true story except it was actually only a few zombies and the army disposed of the bodies in a group of cannisters. He then tells him that the army made a mistake and the bodies were shipped there and have resided in the basement for many years. They go down to see them and Freddy asks Frank "Hey, these things dont leak do they?". Frank says NO and hits the side of the tank and guess what happens.....it leaks, releasing a gas that spurts in their faces. They are knocked unconscious for a couple hours bu when they wake up they find that the gas has reanimated one of the cadavers. They must call their boss Burt to help take care of it. They chop the body up and take it to the morgue where Burt's friend Ernie lets them burn it in the crematorium. What does this do? Leaks the green gas out of the building and into graveyard outside. Meanwhile, out in the graveyard all Freddy's friends including his girlfriend and the lovely Trash (Linnea Quigley) are partying. They are in deep shit when the dead corpses start rising to hunt for human brains. All the partiers rush to the morgue and along with Ernie, Burt, Frank, and Freddy, lock up the place and board up the windows and must ban together the stay alive as a horde of the living dead are trying to get in.  Like i said before this is one of my favorite movies. All the performances are great with the best being from Burt (Clu Gulager) and there is great chemistry between Frank (James Karen) and Freddy. The movie is full of great gore and plenty of humorous scenes. The soundtrack for the movie is awesome with a dozen or so great punk songs. I HIGHLY recommend to see this film.
