Friday the 13th 2 opened in 1981 and marked the debut of Jason Voorhees in the series and also started the now normal "naked girl goes skinny dipping by herself in the dark" routine that we have all come to know and love. This entry in the Friday the 13th series is in my opinion the 2nd best (after the original) of the entire series. The story involves a man Paul and his girlfriend Ginny who have opened up a camp across the lake from the original Camp Blood to use it to train camp counselors. Although this entry doesn't have Tom Savini doing the special fx, the death scenes are still very weel done and imaginitive. The new deaths include: spike through the head, hatchet in the face, throat cut, hammer in back of head, and of course the always enjoyable spear through the couple having sex. The music is once again good with Harry Manfredini doing the score again and the direction by Steve Miner (who has made such horror films as House, Lake Placid, and Halloween H20, and Warlock) is equally as good as the original.
