REVIEWS
Day of the Dead was released in 1985 and is the third (and hopefully not final) installment of George Romero's Dead Series.  Like I mentioned in my Dawn review, I picked up Day of the Dead on accident, meaning to get Dawn. Until recently i hadn'tt been really impressed by the film and found it rather boring but since i first found it boring, i had only watched a couple times. Then a few months ago i decided to watch it again and really pay attention to it and maybe change my mind about it. Well i did....while it's still my least favorite of the trilogy, it is still a great movie.  What i think made it seem boring in the earlier years was the fact that it does not have as many zombie attacks as Dawn and Night. But now I see that it is still a great film due to the great dialogue and everything else that goes on in the movie.
The story is as follows: a small group of scientists and army personnel reside in an underground army base where the army guys are getting tired of risking their lives to bring corpses to the mad doctor Logan who does experiments on them. The army people begin to turn on the scientists while the living dead rule above.
The acting is very good in the film especially from Joseph Pilato who plays the sinister Captain Rhodes. And as always with ANY film by George Romero, the direction is brilliant with a very creepy feeling of claustrophobia. Like i said before, it is not nearly as good as Dawn of the Dead but still it is a pretty damn good movie.
