Bad Taste is the debut film from awesome director Peter Jackson (director of Frighteners, Dead Alive, and Meet the Feebles). It was basically made on no budget with Jackson writing, and directing, and also playing two of the main roles(Derek and Robert). All the supporting cast is made up of close friends of Jackson. This was the last of all of Peter Jackson's films that i had seen. I would always look for it but no rental or retail stores near me carried it until about 3 weeks ago i was walkin in my local video store when low and behold they had purchased a copy and put it right in their cult video section. I took it home immediately and ended up watchin it 2 times that night. I can surely say that it is my favorite film of Jackson's.
The plot is as follows: A race of aliens have killed all the inhabitants of a small town with plans on selling them as food on their home planet. A group of soldiers are called in to check out what's goin on in the small town. One of them spots a donation collector being abducted by the aliens and taken to this big white house they use as their base. So it is up to the group of soldiers (Ozzy, Barry, Derek, and Frank) to save the collector and destroy the aliens. The movies direction is great as is every Jackson film and the humor in this movie will have u rlling on the floor. And of course...there's the gore. And oh so much gore there is. Brains leakin outta heads, sheeps being blown up, aliens chainsawed in half, and the infamous vomit dinner scene. Must see for horror and gore buffs!!
