Emerald Windows
(published 1994)
This read more like a Harlequin than most of Blackstock's books, but was still very enjoyable. Predictable, but sweet. Definitely something to read.

Cape Refuge
(published 2002)
Talk about a book that creeped me out! Not because it was especially eerie, or gory, but because I could see it being my story. I could easily picture my parents running a halfway house and getting murdered because of it. That brought the characters and the pain so much more down-to-earth. I was completely baffled as to who was the killer by 3/4 through the book -- there were so many suspects, but none I really wanted to accuse. When the surprise ending came, I was delighted at how everything worked out. Great, great, wonderful book.

Covenant Child
(published 2002)
Definitely a tear-jerker, but very well-written. I really enjoy Blackstock's writing -- she creates intriguing plots, likeable characters, and draws me into the world of the story. This story made me understand why Kara was so hesitant to take what was offered her. Great, great story, and a great allegory of God's love for us and how sometimes we reject Him because we've been hurt so many times before.
