Everybody lauded this as a scary movie. Well, it wasn't. It had a few chill-up-the-spine moments, but it wasn't so much a "scary movie" as it was just a straight drama involving an alien invasion. However, dramas can be incredibly powerful if done right, and this was done right. For a secular movie, it put an amazing amount of emphasis on faith and God. That's something you don't see too often coming from Hollywood, and that's just another reason for me to praise this movie.
