Phat Chance: Without You I bought this expecting it to be a boy band, but it wasn't exactly. At least it wasn't another N*Sync clone. :-) Phat Chance sounds more like Jake than True Vibe, although they, like True Vibe, seem to have an album theme -- "I tried to do it my way but didn't do so well." Nearly every song has that theme. One song that caught my attention was "Hide Their Eyes," a song talking about how, as celebrities, their spiritual lives are more carefully watched. The song asks God to "hide the eyes" of the people watching them. At first it sounded like a horrible song, but I was reassured when they continued, "Show them what really lies inside. Mistaken I hate to be." These guys aren't asking God to cover up their sins, they're asking for second chances from other people. Still not sure if I think that will work but . . . Oh well. Good album overall. Except for the fact that all the songs sound the same.

7 out of 10.
