I adore the original cartoon, so I was anxious to get this movie to see how it rated alongside them. It was mediocre. Madeline was the same character I had come to know and love - well, she would have been had she not been played by Hattie Jones, who irritated me, as did the kid who played Pepito. But whoever that was who played Miss Clevell was hilarious, and the storyline was passable. It had some cute moments. I wouldn't watch this movie again, but it's fun one time.
